Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu)
The Great Pyramid of Cheops, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, is the largest and most impressive of the three pyramids on the Giza Plateau. Standing at 146.6 meters (481 feet), it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years. Built as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu, it is a testament to ancient Egyptian engineering and precision. The pyramid originally featured a smooth limestone casing, reflecting sunlight and giving it a brilliant appearance. Inside, it houses the King’s Chamber, containing a sarcophagus, and an intricate network of passages and chambers. 5.00An amazing day being able to experience the Pyramids and the Sphinx first hand after so many years of wondering what it would be like. Our guide, Nada, and our driver Mido met us on time, outside of our hotel and very soon we were at the entrance Museum on the Giza plateau. Shuttle buses take you first to the panoramic viewpoint, then next to Khufu’s pyramid. From there it is a short journey by bus again downhill to the Sphinx. Nada had a lot of information to share, which was challenging at times due to the crowds but she always manages to find a quiet spot to give us her knowledge before taking us onto the next area to learn from. We felt like VIPs all day. A great way of learning about a fascinating country with an incredible history.

5.00An absolutely amazing tour of a lifetime I will remember forever. Our guide Sameh is simply excellent and made this one of the best days we have ever had. He had everything pre arranged for us and took us around the pyramids and Sphinx ensuring we had great access and plenty of good photos. He takes amazing pictures and I was very pleasantly surprised and how good the ones he took of us came out. He knows exactly where to place you and has some great spots up his sleeve. In a lot of them we actually look like we are the only people there. I wasnt too bothered beforehand about doing the camel ride but it ended up being great fun and I am really glad we did it now. Sameh is extremely knowledgable about the pyramids and informed us really about the history and details of them. He pointed out some interesting aspects and arranges the tour so you see every aspect of them from every angle. We even got inside the pyramid too which was an exciting moment. I really cannot recommend him enough he made the day and it flowed really well. The lunch provided was very good too. I know there is a lot of bad publicity about some tour guides and you need to be careful who you book with but I can honestly say use this company. Sameh is 100% honest and reliable, no extra requests for cash of any kind of rip offs. Everything included with no extra fees. He also kept the majority of sellers and traders away from us and we were not subjected to any kind of hassle on the day. He made sure he obtained the correct tickets we needed along the way and managed to make us avoid all the queues. Everything from the pick up to drop off was very efficiently managed. He is a really nice guy to spend the day with and my wife and I are so happy we chose him to do this tour. If you are in any doubt I can assure you that you will not regret booking with Sameh.
