The Khmer Rouge turned Toul Sleng High School into a center for interrogation, torture and death. Thousands of photo of victims can be seen in each room. You will walk slowly and investigate the materials used for interrogation of prisoners. After that we travel about 15km toward southwest of Phnom Penh we will arrive at Choeung Ek. The memorial at Choeung Ek just outside Phnom Penh was an orchard! And a Chinese cemetery prior to 1975. During the Khmer Rouge regime, it became one of the killing fields the site of the brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered through torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison. Choeung Ek is now a group of mass graves and a memorial stupa containing thousands of skulls. Come back to hotel and drop off.

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum
Tuol Sleng was a former high school that the Khmer Rouge turned into a centre for interrogation, torture and death. Today it is a museum of torture and serves to remind visitors of the terrible atrocities that came to pass in Cambodia. 17,000 people passed through the gates of this prison and only seven lived to tell the tale.
Choeung Ek Genocidal Center
Prisoners from Tuol Sleng followed this same route to their fate. An old Chinese cemetery, Choeng Ek was turned into an extermination camp for political prisoners. The remains of 8985 people were exhumed from mass graves and are kept in a memorial stupa here. Despite the horrors of the past, it is a peaceful place to go and a tranquil spot to reflect on the tragic events that engulfed Cambodia and its people.

Our guide Silong was so informed and insightful, was able to share the stories of Cambodia, Khmer Rouge, Pol Pot and the people. The visits to both the killing fields and S21 are moving and sad, Silong explains the history so well. Best guide so far.

Our tour guide Silong was great and very knowledgeable about the history of the killing fields - and museum. It definitely enhanced our trip and understanding of Cambodia’s history. It’s a very sad sight but we are so glad we had a guide with us.

Mr Silong was able to make a very complex history more understandable regarding the political factions and countries involved in the struggles in Cambodia, during the time of the Killing Fields and the S-21 Prison. As we traveled to the sites he used the time to present important background information and continued to build on this as we passed through the sites in the Killing Fields and the S-21 Prison. We highly recommend our tour guide, Mr. Silong and this tour company.

We were a couple with our 14 year old daughter. We took the half day tour with Silong to the S21 prison and Killing Fields. He was extremely knowledgeable and delivered the confronting information with care. Whilst it’s difficult to hear, it’s important to understand the history. Highly recommend.

Very thought provoking tour. The whole history of this period of Cambodia is very sad. Our guide Chheang spoke excellent English Had great knowledge of the history not only this period but also of Phnom Penh. This was complemented by her own family experience which gave the whole trip a personal touch. We both found it upsetting but a necessary lesson for us both Thank You Ni

Mr Soc was a superb guide. He explained everything to us with intelligent clarity and personal integrity. We felt very lucky to have him as a guide to this awful period of history.

We had an extremely informative tour with Ms Sreyneang. She had great English and was very well knowledgeable. She helped us make sense of the convoluted political past of Cambodia, and was able to provide her own experiences and stories from her own family as well. We came away with a thorough and complete picture of the atrocities of the Pol Pot regime, and better for it!
