Cam Thanh Coconut Village is located about 5km from the southeast of the Hoi An Old Town, Quang Nam, Viet Nam. The existence of the craft of making coconut paintings and the water coconut forest ecosystem Cam Thanh has created a cultural space to attract domestic and foreign tourists to visit, sightseeing or study.
Hoi An Ancient Town
Hoi An Ancient Town is also famous for its unique traditional festivals, such as the Fortune God Festival, ceremonies for craft ancestors, and celebrations for religious saints. Folk games like Ho Khoan, Ho Gia Gao, and Bai Choi are also popular here. The locals in Hoi An are exceptionally friendly and hospitable, always willing to lend a hand when needed. In addition to enjoying the town’s charming beauty, a visit to Hoi An Ancient Town offers the chance to explore a blend of Eastern cultures from Vietnam, Japan, and China. This vibrant multicultural town, founded over 200 years ago, was once a bustling trading port during the Nguyen Dynasty.

Tour got off to a bad start when company sent a car that stank of cigarettes and our whole family ended up smelling of said tobacco as they couldn’t change the car Coconut boatswere ok but pretty basic. I keep promising myself I won’t use Viator again but I was I did and once again I was disappointed.Betreexto do your homework and book locally rather than using these 3rd party sites

We booked this excursion through Trip Advisor / Viator for about 98 USD for a family of four 2 adults and 2 children under 12. We were picked up at our hotel at exactly 2pm and our excursion / experience was done by 3pm, and there was a 10 minute ride to the site involved. Found almost 100 USD a bit steep for a 50 minute experience. On top of it, the “tour guide” picked us up in a Grab (Uber) and we departed separately from the guide in another Grab…so he really didn’t do much of anything except way us to the proper boat operator. What I will say, the actual tour on the boats was tons of fun. The boat operators have great personalities and they have an amazing set-up on the river that can be lots of fun if you do it in groups. If I had to do things differently, I would research the coconut boat location.l and simply Grab to and from the location myself. You would also be able to barter with operators as they were not all that busy….probably could have done this for about $50 USD if I did it myself. All this to say, this one can be easily organized by yourself if you are a small group and save the overhead expenses of going through this platform. It was recommended that each boat driver be tipped 50,000 Dong. Free water is provided for each passenger and we were provided with fresh mango at the end.

It was a great short trip out to the coconut village. Our tour guide hired a driver from our hotel to his local house. From his house he introduced us to Thu who rowed us around on a little basket boat - and we were welcomed with passionfruit cool drinks to take with us on the boat! On the tour, there is plenty of entertainment and music to make it a fun journey. We tried our hand at fishing for tiny crabs on the riverside. Our rower also was kind enough to lend us an umbrella and hats to stave off the heat. Overall it was a really fun experience! Would recommend!

Unfortunately i must say that it wasn’t that cool.. it could be really nice if it was a tranquil boat ride through the coconut forest but unfortunately its the other way around. There is loud Korean and Vietnamese šlager playing and people on the boats only taking pics. The guy who drives the boat does not speak English, don’t expect to ask any questions or get any kind of information about the forest or the boats or anything really.. i paid about 55aud to be picked up from my homestay at 9:30 (30mins late) and dropped off by 10:30. So its not 1-2hours of boat ride. My whole journey was 1h alltogether. A bit sad that I wasted this much money on such poorly though-through attraction.
