Chucuito
Discover the ancient ruins of Inca Uyo, located in the city of Chucuito, a Peruvian fertility temple that dates back to a time long forgotten. You'll be amazed by the unique monoliths, which bear an uncanny resemblance to penises, and learn about their significance to the local culture. The main purpose of the temple was to pay homage to the rains, which were essential for the fertility of the earth. Inca Uyo, measuring 15 meters long and 5 meters wide, was a central site for ancient Andean rituals. The stone phalluses found throughout the site symbolize fertility and the power of nature, reflecting the Andean people's deep reverence for the forces that sustained their agricultural way of life. Inca Uyo offers a fascinating glimpse into the spiritual and cultural practices of the ancient Andean civilizations.
You'll also have the opportunity to explore some of the famous Inca tombs, such as the Chullpas de Molloco, which are scattered throughout the area. These impressive stone structures, believed to have been built by the Incas or earlier cultures, were used as tombs for important individuals. The Chullpas are characterized by their tall, cylindrical shape and are constructed using large, carefully fitted stones. These tombs are a testament to the incredible skill and ingenuity of the Inca people, who were able to create such remarkable structures using only basic tools and materials, showcasing their advanced knowledge of engineering and architecture.

They charged us a little extra as we had requested a certain pick up point. But this was well communicated and agreed upon beforehand. We truly enjoyed the Amara muru portal, but the other two stops felt a little stretched out. Good guide. Very long commute time

100% recommend this tour. I learned so much all along the way, each stop is fascinating in its own right. It is a must do if you are in Puno.

My guide was very friendly and accommodating, and I appreciated his flexibility in pick-up location ( I was picked up beyond the regular pickup route), which is the only reason I am giving this tour 2 Stars. That said, I was very disappointed with the quality of this tour. I felt I had a very expensive taxi service, instead of a cultural tour guide. I was provided very very little cultural information (about as much was written in the description of this tour). I splurged on this tour because I was excited to learn about the history and culture of these sites. My guide had little knowledge of the sites, and even made up information when I asked questions ( for example he told me shelters were made to provide a resting spot for locals, but there were ruin protected by shelter...he clearly had never wakes up to these shelters before. When I asked him about it, he didn’t really say anything. I’ve booked numerous tours while being in Peru… this was the most expensive and far and away the lowest quality. Unless you want an English speaker that will drive you around and don’t really care about the history of the sites, I don’t recommend this tour.

The experience was amazing in particular our guide made it very special not only because of his knowledge of history and legend but also he spoke a perfect English. Also his shamanic ability in front of Amaru Muru with a ceremony empowered us with an energy and magic of the place

Our guide, Samuel, was very knowledgeable of the sites and did a great job of tailoring the experience to our interests. Having a private guide was a great idea and well worth the money. He and a driver picked us up and dropped us off back at the hotel. I highly recommend this tour.

This was a very interesting tour though it was quite a drive from Puno. My daughter had seen something on a TV show about aliens regarding this site. She loved this tour.
