If you are looking for a small group experience, instead of getting on a tour bus with a cruise tour, consider this. Our Guide, Cesia, was remarkable. Smart and bright, she made you feel like your best friend was showing you her home. Maya Eden was stop and did not disappoint. The guides made sure that you could interact with the sloths, Monkeys, and other native wildlife. The chocolate stop was busy but fun. There are many varieties of chocolate for you to try and purchase. Cesia took us to a shop next to the Chocolate Shop filled with local handmade souvenirs. “Nothing made in China here” we were told.. The next stop was the rum shop were you can sample many varieties of rum cake and rum. The shop is located on a high spot and has a patio that affords a magnificent view of the beaches below. Finally, we had 2 hours on a beach that was located at the Paradise resort. The beach was very busy but we were able to find chairs near the water. They have a restaurant and bar on the beach. We had a delicious pizza and cool drinks. The service was a little slow but the food was great. Cesia offered earlier in the say to take any of us interested to a local restaurant that offers more food, including iguana. No one felt that adventurous in our group. Our trip to Roatan was a great experience and I would do it again if we ever come back.

We were greeted & picked up by a private driver. Chantel ( Channel?) was super nice. She gave us a lot of history lessons of the island. She waited patiently on us while we stopped, shopped or went to the beach. She was lovely.

The tour was just ok. We paid for a total experience, but only got 1/2 of what was advertised. What they don’t tell you is that Rum Factory is closed on the weekends & our tour was on Saturday. We went to the Monkey farm expecting to see sloths, but the sloth caretaker was off on a Saturday. It was very disappointing! The beach was ok, but the food is hella expensive & not worth it.

The four of us enjoyed the excursion. It was easy to find our guide outside the gate. We went to the animal sanctuary and Edwin took great care of us there. Febe was our tour guide and she was wonderful! Lots of photo ops with the animals. From there we went to the chocolate factory and a rum and rum cake tasting. The chocolate was good. There was a lovely photo spot at the rum place. From there we had a couple of hours at the beach. It was a bit crowded and vendors were everywhere. We made it back to our shop with plenty of time to spare.
