Join Lapin Taivas for an authentic Northern Lights adventure! We can travel up to 300+ KM in our comfortable Mercedes Pegabus Vans, chasing clear skies or heading deep into the wilderness — this tour is made for true Aurora Hunters.
Our professional guides and photographers use the best weather data, cameras, and lenses to find the lights and capture unforgettable shots. All photos are delivered to your email within 8–72 hours after the tour.
Unlike standard tours, we follow no fixed route. We drive wherever the sky is clear, often 100+ KM away from city lights, to give you the best possible viewing conditions.

What To Expect
Rovaniemi
You will be taken on a northern lights hunt with a professional photographer in a spacious van. (Comfort is important for road trips, as we travel at least 50 km—but usually around 120 km one way—to find the darkest spot.) A delicious Finnish Sandwich and berry tea are on the menu for the night to satisfy your hunger. Since our priority is finding a clear spot for the northern lights, we don’t set up a barbecue for unnecessary sausages. Based heavily on cloud coverage and solar wind data, you may visit 2 to 3 different viewpoints from the 100 we have mapped, discovered all across Finnish and Swedish Lapland. Some say it’s a nice road trip; others call it a true northern lights hunt. Due to weather conditions, we always send an information email to our guests by 13:00 at the latest on the day of the tour. Sometimes, we may need to depart 1 hour earlier or later to find better weather. Our tours usually start between 18:30 and 19:00 and end around 01:00 to 03:00.

5.00We had a very nice trip in the country side to spot the auroras. We had the chance to see some beautiful ones. Our guide Rasa Mehrabani was very welcoming! He picked us up at our BnB and took notice photos of us in front of the lights. We will keep good memories of the trip!

5.00The experience was incredible and exceeded all our expectations. The tour was very well organized, and it was truly a special and unforgettable moment. Our guide, Rasa, was extremely kind and professional. He was attentive to us at all times and made sure we enjoyed the experience to the fullest. Even with the language barrier, as we only speak Spanish, he did his best to communicate with us and made the experience pleasant, comfortable, and memorable. 3.00Our guide was excellent, but unfortunately we didn’t see the Northern Lights. The tour was advertised as ‘guaranteed Northern Lights viewing,’ yet we were not refunded, so we were understandably disappointed not to experience it.

5.00We traveled to Laponia in family, with two children under 10 years old, so being a unique opportunity to see the Aurora Boreal, we chose to take a tour in a mini van with guaranteed visibility to (i) optimize the comfort of the family (we faced temperatures below -20o and the children were always comfortable), (ii) minimize the hypotheses of dissatisfaction (many tourists try to see the Aurora Boreal but can't), and (iii) have quality photographic accompaniment that allows to eternalize the moment (I think the photographs reflect our satisfaction). It is a more expensive tour, but this way it is guaranteed that the experience is realized regardless of the atmospheric / climatic conditions (whether in the outskirts of Rovaniemi or even as far as Sweden), and so we can only recommend and show our appreciation for the accompaniment and attention that the guide (Raza) gave to our family during the about 6 hours that lasted the tour.

5.00Awesome! After driving for 5hrs we finally saw the Aurora! It didn’t stay long but it was enough for us! We were actually lucky to have seen it since the forecast was low to see the Aurora yesterday January 4th 2026. Rassa, our tour guide was great!

5.00Rassa was our guide. He was very friendly and accomodating. He took us all around! Went south/ southwest/ east. Drove for 5 hrs or longer and finally saw the aurora. Would recommend him anytime!
