Join Lapin Taivas for an authentic Northern Lights adventure! We can travel up to 300+ KM in our comfortable Mercedes Pegabus Vans, chasing clear skies or heading deep into the wilderness — this tour is made for true Aurora Hunters.
Our professional guides and photographers use the best weather data, cameras, and lenses to find the lights and capture unforgettable shots. All photos are delivered to your email within 8–72 hours after the tour.
Unlike standard tours, we follow no fixed route. We drive wherever the sky is clear, often 100+ KM away from city lights, to give you the best possible viewing conditions.

What To Expect
Rovaniemi
You will be taken on a northern lights hunt with a professional photographer in a spacious van. (Comfort is important for road trips, as we travel at least 50 km—but usually around 120 km one way—to find the darkest spot.) A delicious Finnish Sandwich and berry tea are on the menu for the night to satisfy your hunger. Since our priority is finding a clear spot for the northern lights, we don’t set up a barbecue for unnecessary sausages. Based heavily on cloud coverage and solar wind data, you may visit 2 to 3 different viewpoints from the 100 we have mapped, discovered all across Finnish and Swedish Lapland. Some say it’s a nice road trip; others call it a true northern lights hunt. Due to weather conditions, we always send an information email to our guests by 13:00 at the latest on the day of the tour. Sometimes, we may need to depart 1 hour earlier or later to find better weather. Our tours usually start between 18:30 and 19:00 and end around 01:00 to 03:00.

5.00On December 15 I joined the Northern Lights tour and was truly very satisfied. The whole experience felt comfortable and special. Our driver was great, and our guide Emin was amazing — very kind, caring, and supportive throughout the tour. Despite the low chance of seeing the lights on that day because of weather conditions, the team made everything possible to find the spot where we could clearly see the lights and enjoy the night. You could really feel that they cared about everyone enjoying the moment. Thanks to this team, the night became an unforgettable memory. I would happily recommend this tour to everyone.

5.00We had a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They tried everything possible the whole time to give us the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Our guide Kadir was super nice and polite. He often asked if everything was okay and chatted with us nicely. Our tour started around 5:45 p.m. and ended after 3 a.m. We drove all the way to Sweden. During this time, we saw the Northern Lights several times. But the absolute highlight was when the Northern Lights appeared like a small explosion. There were pink parts and the lights moved very quickly. We were only able to experience this because our guide kept looking for the best lights on the way back to Rovaniemi. The photos look great too. I would recommend booking here. However, you may need to allow more time for the trip. Sometimes it is recommended to start much earlier, and the trip can also last well into the night until the early hours of the morning. But it's worth it!!! Thank you for the Great day/night.

Emin took us to a great spot and was so quick with the photos to make sure everyone got awesome photos with the lights in the background. We watched in awe as they danced across the sky. So incredible to see! The sandwiches were great and the warm drinks too. Thanks Emin for bringing good vibes!!

5.00Kadir was amazing, we didn’t stop until we saw the lights. We went to Sweden. There was really low probability to see them on this day. The team is great, coordinating all the time where the best locations are. The van is really comfortable. Our tour was 10 hours.

5.00Supported by sophisticated apps, Kadir bent over backwards, tried his utmost to ensure that we got to see the lights. He drove 8 hours, across Finland to Sweden, and remained friendly and cheerful the whole time. Helps that he has a high end camera and a good sense of photography, resulting in many happy pictures.
