On the outskirts of Bogotá, there are two beautiful old towns that are worth visiting: Zipaquira and Guatavita. Come with us and explore its treasures with this two-in-one day trip. First, explore the halls of the Salt Cathedral, the only underground catholic church in the world. Then, venture into Guatavita’s natural park to learn about its cultural significance, as well as the legend of El Dorado. Choose a private or shared option.

This tour offers a shared option without lunch. It includes pick-up and drop-off at your lodging, entrance to the Cathedral and Guatavita Lake, and risk insurance. A minimum of 2 people is required for the tour to operate. If only one person books and the minimum is not met, the customer will be offered either a change of date or a 100% refund

The pick-up for the shared tour will be between 8 and 9 AM, depending on the hotel route

Diego is a wonderful guide. He explained the history of Lake Guatavita and the Salt Cathedral. He also answered our questions about Bogota and Colombia. Helpful and friendly. My mother and I enjoyed our tour!

Excellent full day tour. Did this along with the same tour operator’s 7hour tour of Bogota and it was a great combination. Our guide was Jose Vasquez… we were one native Spanish speaker and one English, both passable but not perfect in the other language. He happily switched back and forth between languages as needed for us to both understand everything, which was very much appreciated. (Some guides previously have told us to pick one language only!) The lagoon has a great story, and the unusual vegetation was beautiful. The guide also knew a ton about the different plants. The salt cathedral was amazing also. Highly recommended if you have more than one day in Bogota.
