On our Tour you will be able to see directly the only underground cathedral in the world located in Colombia, built 180m underground, it is a mega structure that deserves to be among the most impressive in our country and on the planet.
The entire structure of this cathedral is carved from salt from the largest salt rock deposit in the world. During the tour there are several stations where you will see the interpretation of the Christian way of the cross, in addition to the central dome where Eucharists are held, intervened by an amazing artistic work of sculpture and lighting, and also natural structures typical of salt deposits, a set of elements that will leave you breathless.
Once you finish the tour of the salt mine, the town of Zipaquirá awaits us to visit its central square, some of its beautiful colonial-looking streets where we will find the ideal place to enjoy a typical lunch.

Amazing Private Tour with a Fantastic Bilingual Guide

5.00We did a private tour of the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral as a family of four, including our two sons (ages 20 and 21), and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our tour guide, David, was outstanding—deeply knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely passionate about sharing both the history and the present-day significance of the site. Since our sons speak Spanish but might not grasp every technical or historical term, we requested a bilingual guide—and David was perfect. He seamlessly switched between Spanish and English, reading the room and translating without us ever needing to ask. David truly made the tour special. These kinds of experiences depend so much on the guide, and he clearly has the personality and talent for this kind of work. Our tour also included lunch, and David made sure it was a memorable one—especially since we were celebrating one of our son's birthdays. He even arranged for the musical group at the restaurant to sing Happy Birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. Hands down one of the best guided experiences we’ve had in Bogotá.

5.00Amazing experience, it's a wonderfull place and our guide, Camilo, was very nice and able to answer all of our questions. The lunch was not so good, the meat was a little dry and they served it together with the soup, so it was a little cold when we ate it.

5.00We were a little nervous about having a tour guide that didn’t speak much English however, William was awesome. He used the translator to communicate with us seamlessly. He answered all of our questions and he even understood our broken Spanish very well. Note wear comfortable shoes when going to the salt cathedral because it is huge and the ground is uneven. My wife has MS and cannot walk for long periods of time without a break, but the cathedral had plenty of wheelchairs for us to use, and that made the experience more enjoyable for her. All in all, I would highly recommend this experience as well as William as the tour guide.

5.00The tour guide Giovanni and the driver John were right on time, they were professional, courteous and patient and it was raining both ways. Giovanni was very knowledgeable on the Salt Cathedral, the lunch food was good & taste at the "Brasa del Llano" including the live entertainment and dancing. We walked a bit around town in a light rain and had some "Obleas w/ Arequipe"; we had a great time :-). I recommend! this tour to anyone.
