What To Expect
Just a short drive from Bogotá, and located in the forest of the Andes mountains, the highest waterfall in Colombia lies waiting: La Chorrera de Choachí featuring waterfalls, caves and mesmerizing views. This journey to the “Mountains of the Moon” will start when one of our guides and a driver pick you up in your hotel. Before getting to La Chorrera we will visit Guadalupe one of Bogotá’s best viewpoints. See its imposing landscape and then head to Choachí, to the entrance of the park. Once there, we’ll visit its first, smaller waterfall, El Chiflón. As we advance, learn of the park’s history, the local ecosystem, and recent challenges Explore the park’s other curiosities like its “monkey stones”, and the peculiarities of these cloud forests. Deeper inside the park, you’ll find La Chorrera: a tiered or stepped 590 meters tall waterfall. This one you can’t rappel down, but you can marvel at! Take in the mighty sight and rest your feet before taking the trail back out of the park. Finally, you’ll be able to join in with some of the locals for a fantastic local lunch before heading back to Bogotá.

5.00The tour was worthwhile in every respect. My guide contacted me early on and asked to move the tour forward by 90 minutes to avoid the traffic in Bogota. This had the advantage that we were the first ones on the trail that day and could therefore explore everything at our leisure and at a comfortable pace. We looked for and observed birds together, and my guide gave me detailed information about the history and nature of the area. Overall, it was a very pleasant conversation during the hike and a fantastic experience! I can highly recommend this hike to everyone. Be sure to pack sturdy shoes and bring sunscreen! Otherwise, the tour is easy to manage at any pace! Many thanks again to my guide for this exceptional experience!

5.00Highly recommended tour. We loved the scenery. The hiking trail was entertaining enough, but not too demanding. Our guide Steven was great in explaining all the needed context, and ensuring everything goes smoothly with snacks, drinks, and preparation. We especially enjoyed the tour due to the friendly guide. The tour was organized with transport and lunch which allowed us to not think about logistics at all, and just focus on enjoying the experience.

5.00Great experience with Gran Colombia tours and can't recommend enough. My driver and tour guide picked me up right on time. Tour guide was friendly and spoke perfect English and was happy to hike at my pace. When finished they drove me back to my apartment, the tour was well worth the money, communication was great.

5.00First off my English speaking guide Camilo was on time at 7:00AM which I recommend to leave from your hotel. The drive was about an hour and a half I went on a Tuesday and there were only 7-10 guests in the park on a beautiful day. The hike for us was perfect conditions 90% dry paths no slippery areas I am 66 and we were climbing up and down for a total of 8000 steps before we reached the top I arrived less than 16 hours from sea level and even though I needed to stop to catch my breath managed to handle the trail with no real difficulty, The views of both waterfalls were spectacular and I have seen many all over the world I would highly recommend going I was back to my hotel y 3pm and Camilo is a wealth of knowledge on many subjects about Columbia

5.00This is a great hiking tour! Approximately 1.5 hrs from Bogotá, you can hike to two beautiful waterfalls in Choachí. Our tour guide Angela was great and very knowleadgeble. Highly recommend this if you like nature and hiking.

5.00Stephen was a great guide! His English is great & he is talkative & conscientious. He made sure the pace was good, pointed out interesting animals and plants. He made sure he stayed close enough that if I started to slip, he helped out. This is a steep hike.

5.00Emilio was a wonderful guide! Charming, knowledgeable, and patient as we hiked. Gorgeous hike with incredible views; challenging but always very doable. And great food at the end of it, too. Gustavo was a heck of a driver; amazed at his efficiency and calm. Would recommend!
