Las Bovedas
The Bóvedas de Santa Clara, built in 1798, were designed as a bombproof shelter for troops and ammunition, it has 23 vaults with ventilation chimneys. Initially used by Cartagena’s White Militias. Today, it hosts the city’s most diverse handicraft market, offering visitors beautiful pieces of traditional Colombian craftsmanship.

5.00As a bit of a history lover myself I’m always critical in these tours, but Alvaro David did great and taught me a lot about the history of Cartagena and the region as a whole. The tour lasted about 2,5-3 hours. Friendly and passionate guide and really interesting to learn more on Cartagena’s history!

5.00Had an amazing time on this tour. Our guide was informative, high energy, accommodating and very attentive of everyone in the group. He was ready to answer any and all questions. We loved our first tour in the morning of the walled city so we ended up signing up for the tour of the castle. No regrets!!
