Waitsfield Covered Bridge
Vermont holds the record for the greatest number of authentic covered bridges per capita in the country. We will see several of these protected bridges on our drive along RT 100. Some of our favorites are at Warren, Waitsfield and Jeffersonville which as at the very northern end of our drive, and actually located on RT108.

The guide was excellent with great history, other places off the 100, and a fun sense of humor. There were no problems getting off and back on the guide. So good we had him teach us about the KANCAMAGUS Highway!

The information provided, was invaluable! I’ll be at some of it was a bit corny, but I think that was intended. There were so many things that we would’ve missed. Had we just done it on our own. The tour guide gave us lots of unknown facts about Vermont, which made the trip interesting as well. This was our first time to Vermont and we had very little information about the state, other than peak foliage… Which we missed. we can only imagine how beautiful it would be at its peak, but it was still incredibly beautiful, even though many trees had lost their leaves. The tour gave us lots of options for hidden treasures… Some of which we took, and some of which we did not. We saw several waterfalls, President Coolidge’s house, and heard a lot of history about the various little towns on the drive… Which was very interesting. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the origins of the areas and the people who founded the city or township. It was also interesting to hear what famous people came from particular places as well. I think travelers ages 8 and up would enjoy hearing the audio for this trip. This was a great value, full of information!

The Self Guided Auto tour was fantastic! I very much liked the fact we could stop and start again without any hassle. The narrator was great, too!

The Vermont Route 100 self-guided audio driving tour was a great additional to our trip. The guide was very informative. By giving this information, we stopped at some places we would have driven right past. By giving you time to decide to make the stop/turn was very helpful. Lots of great information about some of the places of interest. Because of limited cell-phone service at times we weren't sure if it was working as the guide stops talking for periods of time, so it would be helpful to be prepared for the silence. Very easy to use this app. We had never done something like this before, but now will look into for future driving trips.

When conversation ended and we were driving past tree after tree after tree, this was a welcomed addition to this early summer trip. We did not have the endurance to partake in any of the side trips but if we did, I would have enjoyed praying with Benedictine Munks or viewing a waterfall.

Great self-driving tour. It is very informative and easy to use. I tried to so it in 8 hours and could not finish it. I highly recommend this.
