Step aboard our sailboat and experience Bacalar in most authentic and sustainable way - powered mainly by the wind. By choosing to sail, you help protect the lagoon's fragile ecosystem while enjoying a peaceful and unforgettable journey.
We will start from the marina, where the captain will share with you a safety instructions.
As we glide across the water, you''ll visit the Channel of the Pirates, once a trade route filled with stories of adventure, pass by Bird Island, and admire the beauty of cenote Negro and Cenote Esmeralda.
Along the way, you'll learn about the history, legends, and natural wonders that make this place so unique.
During the journey we'll anchor at two special spots where you can jump in for a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters. Back on board, enjoy a snack of fresh fruit, along cold beers and water.
The trip finish at the same place where it started.

What To Expect
The captain of sailboat will meet you at the marina. After a brief instruction you will start the tour. The excursion continue on south of the lagoon where you will see cenotes, small islands, mangrove trees, and you will swim in beautiful clear waters. You will learn about ecosystem of the lagoon and also about history of the town from our experienced captain.

5.00This trip was definitely one of the highlights of my vacation. Julio was so cool and made us feel comfortable right away. He showed us all the beautiful spots around the lagoon and sprinkled in some history and facts.

4.00The sailing trip with Costa the captain was extremely pleasant. There were four of us and had a lot of fun sailing the lagoon. I recommend this excursion by sailboat and not by motorboat.

3.00Pros: 1 water, fruit plate, nice way to get out on beautiful bacalar waters, sails were up for part of tour, small group, cheaper than others Cons: not 4hrs as described(I specifically booked the 3pm to be out at sunset but were done and docked in 3hrs), captain Costa was not very personable, didn't interact or engage much and seemed bothered by questions. I would not choose this tour company again on future visits.
