This tour is a small group adventure, limited to 8 participants per guide, ensuring a more personalized experience.
Minimum age is 14 years
The tour is about 4.5 hours with approx. 3 hours on ice.
Remember to bring: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, head-wear, gloves and good hiking shoes.
Sturdy hiking shoes, waterproof jacket and pants can be rented from the local operator for a small fee, please contact the local operator prior to traveling if you wish to rent some gear.
Guests must be comfortable walking 3-4 km on uneven terrain

Great tour with a small annoyance

4.00Everything we hoped it would be: adventure of climbing ice, walking a glacier, scenic views and a skilled and informative guide. The only reason for 4 (vs 5) stars is that we were charged for hiking boots. When we arrived we were told that hiking boots with ankle support is *required*. I don’t recall that being in the Viator description, but that’s fine, just provide the boots for us. The boots were available, and for a small enough charge, but it just feels deceptive to charge us extra. Again, it was a great tour, 5 stars in every other way, but please, just charge a tad more for the general ticket to cover cost of *required* boots as no one likes to have to pull out their credit card again for something they booked a month in advance.

5.00Excellent guide with Monica. She was an excellent belayer and we felt very comfortable. She was very cheerful and competent! We had an amazing time ice climbing! Highly recommend. We hope to go back for a more advanced trip someday.

5.00Definitely be prepared for your calves to be very sore, as long as you have the right form for climbing. The glacier itself can only be described as other-worldly. The guides were very helpful in keeping everyone safe but also being fun and having a good time.

5.00Firstly, we like to compliment francesco and Steve. These 2 italian guides make us feel like we are in safe hands. They are very professional, detailed and responsible. They made a wonderful team as well. You can tell Steve is very passionate of the glaciers too. They will share with us some info of the glaciers Especially the climb, this is a high risk activity, but u can see our guides are very patient n encouraging! We really enjoyed our hike n climb! Highly recommended!
