See a whole new side of Moraine Lake—peaceful, uncrowded, and lit by the beauty of sunset and the stars. This evening adventure takes you beyond the typical daytime experience, combining stunning landscapes, wildlife viewing, and one of the best stargazing spots in Banff National Park.

Your journey begins along the Bow Valley Parkway, with chances of spotting wildlife, and a stop at Morant’s Curve. Take a guided walk along the lakeshore trail and soak in the quiet beauty of the lake as the surrounding peaks glow in warm sunset colors. Then, we’ll make our way up to the rockpile for the best panoramic views as the sky transitions from day to night.

With minimal light pollution, Moraine Lake offers incredible stargazing. We’ll use telescopes and binoculars to get a closer look at planets, constellations, and even the northern lights if conditions are right.

If you want to escape the crowds and enjoy Moraine Lake in a way most visitors never do, this tour is for you.

The sunset and stargazing tour at Moraine Lake was the best tour we did while on our multi-family trip in the Banff area! Booking the tour was super easy and the correspondence and response of the team was great. Due to the size of our party of 13 we were a private tour and they even accommodated us to change the pick up location directly at our rental house. Tobias was our guide and greeted us warmly and was very accommodating throughout our tour. Our group ranges in age from 11 to adult and everyone loved Tobias. He was a wealth of knowledge not just of the locale and its history, but of photography opportunities and techniques and much more. This tour was amazing from beginning to end for the views, the exclusivity from other tourists, the awesome stargazing and amazing Tobias! We would all highly recommend this tour to others!

We had a fantastic experience on the sunset tour, thanks to Justin who was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. He shared deep insights into the history of the Canadian Rockies, local wildlife, and geology — making the journey not just scenic but truly educational. He kept us entertained for hours with stories and facts, showing real passion for what he does. Even when it started to rain, he adapted quickly and took us to Lake Louise, making sure we didn’t miss out. Once the weather cleared, he made sure we could still visit the stunning Moraine Lake for sunset — and it was absolutely worth the wait. Highly recommend this tour and guide if you’re looking for more than just beautiful views

Moraine Lake at night sunset was magnificent. The time spent watching the mountains change colour as the sun went down was a sight to behold. Would certainly recommend the sunset or sunrise tour.

This is a wonderful evening tour! This tour picks up in Canmore around 6pm CMT and in Banff at around 7pm. It stays light until around 10:30 so there is plenty of time to see the Bow River Parkway, Moraine Lake, and a bit of Lake Louise. Out tour guide, Laura, was fantastic...very friendly, enthusiastic, informative, and flexible with plenty of wildlife viewing stops and photo ops of the jaw-dropping landscapes. We had to cut our lake Louise tour short because of heavy downpours. Bring rain and cold-gear! The tour ends after midnight so Laura was incredibly helpul to drop me off at my Banff hotel.
