There are approximately 300 stairs on this tour - Low Impact. It is not recommended for those with limited mobility who are unable to manage stairs an access tour is available by contacting the supplier directly

Tours do not operate on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day before 1:00pm
Tour & Dine Option: Booking Time refers to tour time, please check in at the Welcome Centre 10 minutes prior to your tour. You will receive a ticket to redeem your main meal and beverage at a harbourside restaurant
Tour & Dine Option: Main meal + beverage can be redeemed at Opera Bar or House Canteen anytime between 11.30am - 6pm on the day of your tour, or Midden by Mark Olive between 11.30-2.30pm or 5-6pm on the day of the tour.
Tour & Dine Option: Children ages 5-15 years will have a childrens menu to select from
Infants under 5 are permitted on the 1 hour tour free of charge, however still require a ticket to be booked
Venue access is subject to availability at the time of your tour and can change up until tour departure time.

What To Expect
Sydney Opera House
Your tour of the Sydney Opera House takes you into some of the world’s most iconic performance venues, where more than 1,500 concerts, plays, musicals and ballets are staged every year. Explore it with an insider guide, who shares stories and fun facts about the opera house’s history, performances and architecture throughout your 1-hour tour. Walk through the elegant foyers, visit one of the largest pillar-free chambers in the world, sit down in a custom-made white birch chair and look up at the vaulted ceiling. Check out areas that are off-limits to the general public, learn about the distinctive exterior design made up of ‘shell’ tiles, and hear about opera house’s Danish architect, including his inspiration and building challenges.

5.00The tour guide was excellent and we could hear everything she said, through the headset/receiver they provided to each of us. Our guide told us funny stories and provided a vast amount of detailed facts/history about this beautiful building! We didn't know there was a purse or bag size "limit", so we had to leave our backpack at a security station (it was free). The tour was so interesting, the hour seemed like it flew by!

4.00A great tour of the Opera House giving an insight into its architecture, construction and operation . We were lucky that a rehearsal was ongoing in the main hall and we were able to listen to part of that and appreciate the fantastic acoustics. Shame that it didn't extend to backstage areas.

5.00I had a stroke and so can't walk up that many stairs. So, I requested the "accessible" tour. They were glad to accommodate me. It was WONDERFUL! I learned so much about the opera house, its history, the inner workings and each of the venues. I highly recommend that tour!
