Te Au Moana Luau
Te Au Moana, translated as the ocean tide, has always been a constant throughout Oceania, connecting our islands, peoples and generations. Our Polynesian ancestors traversed these oceans tides for ages and revered them for their life sustaining properties. Their stories, which spoke of their expert skills in fishing, gathering and voyaging demonstrated the tremendous depths of knowledge and respect they had to the Earth and its elements. As Hawaii’s premier entertainment company, Tihati Productions endeavors to bring these stories to life at “Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide”. We invite you to dine as the ocean sits peacefully before you, as it has for thousands of years. We ask you to dance under the Maui skies; the moon and stars await you and we hope that you discover all the fascinating stories at “Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide” a spectacular lu’au experience like no other!

Standard seating meant we were directly in the sun for the first two hours of the luau. It was extremely hot and we couldn’t even see the stage. Everyone looked like moving shadows. Our kids were miserable! This luau fails in comparison to Grand Wailea. They should start the event later and move tables around to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

We attended a luau show on this side of the island and, honestly, it was not worth the price. The show was way too long, and the heat and humidity made it uncomfortable to sit through. The food was just okay, although the service was good. We were staying at the Westin Resort & Spa, and it took us an hour and a half to get there due to heavy traffic, which made the experience even less enjoyable. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you’re coming from this side of the island.

My family of 4 has enjoyed this Luau experience. The setup was very nice - outdoors by the beach. The food was great and the performance was good as well.

The food was 5 stars, delicious! I’d been to Old Lahaina Luau in the past, I feel that is a much better value and traditional luau experience. This luau did not do the Kahlúa pig ceremony, removing it from the imu, that had been a highlight and was missed. The grounds are beautiful and our server was wonderful. It was just the show itself that seemed a bit too commercialized. Not worth the extra money in our opinion.
