Nara, as an ancient capital, is home to many temples, shrines, and traditions that continue to thrive today, creating a unique atmosphere where you can feel the slow passage of time.
In this peaceful environment, we offer you an experience that lets you touch the essence of Japanese culture through a cup of matcha.
The tea ceremony is not about mastering specific forms, but rather about finding a way to center your mind. We hope this experience will offer you a moment to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reflect on yourself.
Every tool used in the ceremony carries meaning, and the gestures made to welcome guests are filled with thoughtfulness.
The careful, graceful movements of preparing the tea, the beauty of the cup being offered, and the fragrance of matcha in the quiet space.
Through the tea ceremony, we express the spirit of hospitality and cherish the present moment. The tea ceremony truly reflects the essence of the Japanese heart.

Snacks
1.First, you'll select a seasonal wagashi (Japanese sweet). These sweets reflect the changing seasons and are beautiful works of art. Choose your favorite and get ready to enjoy the matcha that pairs perfectly with it. 2.The teacher will demonstrate the formal tea preparation right in front of you. Every movement is intentional, and just watching this careful process makes the atmosphere quiet and still, naturally centering your mind. The freshly prepared matcha will then be served to all guests. The moment you take a sip, the rich aroma and smooth flavor of the matcha will let you experience the true spirit of hospitality. 3.Next, select your second sweet. Each one beautifully represents Japan's seasons, with delicate sweetness that perfectly complements the matcha. 4.Now, it’s your turn to prepare matcha. Under the teacher’s guidance, scoop hot water and whisk the tea. The sound of the water, the rising aroma, and the rhythm of whisking create a peaceful, enriching experience you won’t find in daily life.

A discovery of the tea ceremony very friendly and informative with two kind hostesses! We tasted cake-poems and learned how to make macha tea. And it didn’t last too long. My two kids, 9 and 15, loved it!
