Departure 5am from Guatemala to Honduras border. Our staff helps and support all requirements to pass to Honduras border. You will arrive to Copan Ruinas about 11:00. Driven from Guatemala to Honduras is great experience you will pass for 3 ecosistems and vegetation changes constantly. We had a great time during this activity. Our driver Don Carlos and the guide Dona Carolina were great and accommodated the activity to our needs with multiple bathroom stops during the drive from Guatemala City to Copan as it was needed. We had another guide provided by the National Park during our Copan excursion who also was great! Absolutely recommend this activity!

Guide was on time and was friendly. The drive to Honduras was about 4.5 hours from Guatemala City in a sedan. Stopped at a local hotel off the highway for breakfast that was 30Q per person (breakfast was not included). Crossing the border into Honduras was interesting. You need $3 US but in Honduran Limpias so can change this with money changers at the border. The guide was with us for some of the time as we went through immigration which was helpful as we benefited from translation support. Once we arrived to Copan Ruinas the guide arranged for an official guide for us and waited at the entrance for us. We opted to pay $45 USD extra for access to the tunnels with guide services. Seeing the bird sanctuary, ruins and sculpture museum was very cool and different than any ruins we’ve seen previously - very worth it! Once we finished at the site the guide took us to La Llama del Bosque in the village that had great vegetarian options, good service and was clean…lunch was around $25 USD. We stopped once on the way back to stretch our legs, use the facilities and grab a drink. It’s a long day - just over 15 hours - with a lot of mountain driving but seeing Copan Ruinas was really worth seeing and experiencing.
