We only use organic ingredients at The Dough House, and you’re going to have so much fun making this traditional afternoon tea! There will be lots of leftovers, so you will be able to take the extras home along with a mini jar of jam and an antique piece of crockery as a souvenir! We had a fantastic day, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with a friendly host who made us feel very welcome. She offered us refreshments and a seat until the rest of the people arrived. We were given a booklet with recipes to follow and take home with us. Showed us how to make a chocolate cake, Victoria sponges, Jam, Clotted cream (we all got to do these as a group). All had a job to do which was great fun. After the group sessions we then went off individually to make scones. I made the Pizza Scones (They were delicious and different) The rest of the group had different scones. We then came together as a group and shared a fantastic afternoon tea with all the yummy delights we had just made with a lovely glass of bubbles. We were a group of 6 (4 people who we didn't know) but immediately were sharing stories and tales. we had such fun together. What an amazing day. Thank you so much to our amazing host. She made our day

A thoroughly enjoyable experience in a beautiful building. Our instructor, Fulden was amazing! So knowledgeable and made us all feel at ease. We were in a small group, so we all had the opportunity to try things out and work together. The class was fun and relaxed and we learned different techniques for scones, cakes, lemon posset and our own jams and clotted creams. Everything was delicious, and it was lovely to sit together and share the meal once done. Thanks Fulden and Lola for the experience. Would highly recommend!

Hands-on cooking class takes the mystery out of clotted cream and scones. Plus you get to make jam and other treats. The group was three people, and the venue didn't look like it would accommodate more than five, so a small group is assured. The host is very knowledgeable and approachable, so cooks of all experience levels will feel at home. You are given a booklet with the recipes, so no need to take notes.

Highly recommend this experience. I learnt so much in such a short period of time, partly because it is all so well organised so that you spend the time on "value" added parts rather than measuring out and prepping ingredients (that is all done ahead of time). I'm recommending it to all my friends and heading home excited to see if I can replicate the quality of scones we made now I have the knowledge about what makes the difference. Also so delighted to find out how to make my own clotted cream! I had the joy of Fulden as my instructor as well; she is lovely, so warm, welcoming and encouraging. Overall, very good value for money.

WOW. Where to begin -- this entire experience was incredible. The building itself is stunning - over 400 years old! - and when we walked in we were welcomed by our host, Fulden, and a beautiful tea setup with different prep stations. We were a group of 4 in this experience, and our host taught us tips and tricks to make our Homemade Jam, Homemade Clotted Cream, Possets, Victorian Sponges, Chocolate cake, and Scones (4 unique and tasty varieties!). Someone in our group had a gluten free request so we were able to try our hand at two different GF sponges and two types of GF scones. After all of our bakes were completed, we sat all together and had a lovely sit-down tea where we got to enjoy the fruits of our labor (and some lovely Turkish spreads as well!) However, one of the highlights for me was truly our host, Fulden. Her knowledge for baking, creativity in developing her own baking style (hello new pasta shape!) , and her passion for creating community through food is nothing short of inspirational. Do not miss this opportunity to learn, have fun, meet amazing people, and enjoy some of the best bakes in the UK! Thank you Fulden for all that you do!

From the moment we got to the class we were warmly greeted and prepared for an afternoon experience. The friendliness of Fulden set the stage for an afternoon of learning, laughing and preparing a special tea. Small friendly group that engaged in sharing the cooking, asking questions, and preparing cakes, scones and clotted cream. We had fun and following. We were no longer strangers by the time we left. The food was delicious even though I made it myself!! Lots of great tips and techniques to use again and again. Very interactive time with great memories forever. That is why we went and were not disappointed. Great afternoon out I cannot wait to take another class.

Fulden is an amazing baker- she knows the science of baking and will teach you some great tips and tricks from how to easily make your own clotted cream to which flour is yields the softest, lightest, fluffiest scones ever!!! We got to make Eve you could imagine for a full proper Afternoon tea- it was truly a delicious meal!!! We shared bubbly and put on fancy hats. The table was set with sweet dishes. Honestly, I had the best time making and eating it all!! I can’t wait to try making the scones and Victoria sponge cake! I would like to be able to go back and try her pizza class!!! Thank you Fulden! You are beautiful inside and out! You have a great sense of how things should be! Anyone who attends her cooking and baking experiences is truly in very good hands!!!!

Fantastic experience, exceeding all expectations. The venue is really quaint, but very functional. Fulden is a super teacher … I learnt such a lot and have been inspired to replicate her bakes. Sampling the afternoon tea that we baked … mmm scrumptious! And Fulden added a few of her own delicious treats too. You will not be disappointed with this class. I will certainly be back to try out one of her other classes.
