It’s so crowded and we ended up in a regular line. The tour guide was new to the job and impatient. We’re all fell sorry for the personal story that she shared, but it’s not professional. The skip the line tour used to be fast and easy to get inside the Basilica but nowadays it’s just like going in with no “skip a line”

You should be quick on foot and always have the guide firmly in view, then s with the non-queue works. St. Peter's Basilica is worth the adventure though...

Certainly worth the money to skip the line. You are paying for the benefit but it was worth it. The queues can be very long depending on the time of year. We went mid term in October and the queue for public tickets was over 3 hours. It took us about 40 minutes.

Anna was an excellent tour guide. You could tell she was passionate about her work and very knowledgeable about the history behind this beautiful piece of architecture. Her knowledge made this tour very interesting and inspiring.

I put a star because I need at least but do not even deserve! A skip-the-line ticket! You will have to wait 2/3 hours like everyone else and especially if you suffer from stress or agoraphobia ESCAPE you are in a very, very dense crowd! We had to get out of the crowd on the edge of discomfort! We have lost 40€ too bad!

Pro: helped get ahead of someone with no ‘group’ access Con: poor communication about the process, let us know when he would leave us on our own, tell us how to navigate what to do after metal detector. We didn’t know and ended up waiting in the wrong line (to climb the Dome)

The guide was knowledgeable but this post is deceitful; there are no skip the lines options. Be prepared to wait for a while. You’re better off entering for free.

That there is initially only one line, and no way to skip the line. At some point there will be a tent on the right that refers to online registration. Look for that tent. You will have to wait with everyone until you get to that point. There will be a few people at that point that will check your phone for the tickets. They will not accept the paper confirmation. The police may or may not be helpful in telling you what to do. The tent should have been put up closer to the start of the barricade and someone should have been there to tell us where it was. When I finally saw it, I did not know what it was and could not find the reference on my phone. Have it ready from the start. I would recommend only if changes are made to system.

We arrived early at the operator and was informed that we could go on the earlier tour. Left on the corner of the street for 30 minutes while they sent more tourists to join until there was near to 40. The operator then arrived to tell us it would take over 40 minutes wait in the skip the line. The guide was hopeless and difficult to follow in the crush and then the one stopped for no reason. After approaching 2 hours we gave up and went back to the hotel as the line was not moving. What a disaster and misinformation by the operator.
