We paid a bit more for 'skip the line' tickets and they were well worth it. Our guide had us through security within 5 mins. He gave us some pointers / tips after which we could wander at our leisure. The Vatican museum is a truly amazing place, the only down side is the number of tour guides with groups of 20+ running along side one another....... trying to avoid those carrying umbrellas held high in the air was like trying to survive a game of snake on a 90's Nokia phone. IYKYK! Keep young children close or you could easily be separated. Otherwise, an amazing place to look around and learn about.

Easy instructions, super helpful and made it easy to get in fast. Meeting across the street was more convenient than some of the other groups. Once inside, clear instructions to get in and then free to go as we wanted. It was great.

Careful! Firstly, going in the museums can be overwhelming with the large amount of people one will find especially during weekends. When we arrived, we were receiving no help and that is when I called OneCity Tours (the company that takes care of these tickets) for help. The employee on the other end of the line proceeded to raise her voice and talk over me when I was trying to ask a simple question - from where do we get the hard copy tickets? Please note that the digital voucher is not enough and you must get the paper version. There were ticket booths with long queues, and so I needed to know whether I must queue to acquire it before more time passes (keep in mind that there were hundreds of people around). This very rude woman, instead of slowly explaining the process, was accusing us for being late (we were there, lost in the chaos, so no you are wrong lady!) and telling us that someone was coming. My question was whether, in the meantime, I should queue to get the paper version of the ticket, and I also asked at what time this person was coming. But no, she continued raising her voice without answering my questions. Could it be that she does not understand English that much? Still does not justify the tone. At one point, I could not take it anymore and hung up. Communication was very poor and calling them was making it more overwhelming. Eventually someone came and gave us a paper ticket. IT WAS THAT SIMPLE - Being gentle was the least this employee could do to help. Be careful on who to trust. You deserve to pay and to be helped. No one should take clients for granted. No, we do not know the answers, to most of us this is the first time! And that is why there is the phone number, to receive help when needed. Not a pleasant experience.

Purchase of tickets for the museums in advance is highly recommended, so you can get to the actual beginning of the exhibitions quickly and guided. The museums are bombastic, incredible what has been accumulated over the centuries. But sometimes it is overflowing with visitors but you are part of the problem. The meeting in front of the hotel with the guides and explanations of access were well organized, that worked well. Some things were explained to the group to visit the museum, but this was not understandable due to the general soundscape. The PDF online plan on the phone was much too small and confusing for us to follow. The many museums are already very complex and so you swim with the flow.

The booking instructions were easy to follow, and the guide was at the meeting point exactly as explained. The guide escorted us over to the museum/sistine chapel and led us through the skip the queue line and into the building, giving clear instructions throughout. We were then led upstairs and told what to do and where to go to the entrance. We liked that it was not a guided tour, and we could go through the museums at our own pace. We bought the audio guide and meandered through all the museums and finally into the Sistine chapel. The museum/sistine chapel was amazing!!!!!
