5.00I had a great time with Juan and Cecilia! They were kind friendly and knowledgeable guides and we packed in snorkeling and a relaxing lunch into a day. It was a nice mix of slow pace and active. The sea lions are incredible

5.00WOW! What an incredible day. It started prior to our actual day out on the boat. Due to the company not being issued with a whale shark swim permit for the day we had booked our shared Whale Shark & Sea Lion Snorkeling Picnic at Espiritu Santo Island tour, we were contacted by the very friendly owner, Jahazeil, and asked if we could reschedule for the following day. Also, because the other folk who were supposed to be on our shared tour were not able to reschedule to the day we were, Jahazeil generously offered to upgrade us to a private charter for a very discounted rate. We were thrilled and decided to go for the upgrade. Upon arrival at the meeting point for our tour, Jahazeil was waiting for us with a huge smile on his face. Very welcoming! We were happy to have met him and learn about his company. He walked us over to our boat where we met our Captain Julio and guide, Diana. Our day was amazing. Diana was a excellent guide and Julio was a solid captain. (Both my hubby and I are boat captains and ocean and whale guides in Hawaii so we have a deep understanding of what good and bad are in this particular realm :-) We got to encounter multiple juvenile whale sharks as they fed on plankton ( as well as seeing a few mobula rays and jellyfish) then en route to Espiritu Santo Island we encountered a couple humpbacks which Julio kindly stopped and let us observe from the boat for a while. It took about an hour by boat to the Espiritu Santo Island but what a beautiful boat ride. Along the way Diana pointed out all kinds of amazing things and shared her knowledge of not just the sea birds and marine animals (of which she has so much!) but also of the geology of the area and cultural history. We learned SO much from her this day! The sealion swim was fabulous. Just as she had for the whale sharks, she briefed us fully on what to expect for the sea lion swim and we saw so many sealions as well as got to snorkel over a gorgeous section of reef. Our picnic lunch on the idyllic rooster beach was delicious. Julio and Diana set up a table with a delicious vegan spread for us (lentil ceviche yummmmm). We highly recommend supporting this amazing local business and choosing Baja Sur Tours as your ocean adventure tour group. 5.00Just had an incredible day on the water with Carlos and Cory! We did the Whale Shark and Sea Lion Snorkeling Combo Tour with a ceviche lunch on Isla Espiritu Santo and it felt like we got the La Paz sampler pack. We swam with whale sharks and sea lions and schools of colorful fish. We saw white sand beaches, red rock cliffs, frigate birds nesting in mangroves, herons nesting in cactuses, brown and blue-footed boobies, and so much more. Cory (not sure on spelling) was an undeniably skilled and decisive captain and Carlos was a personable, knowledgeable, and attentive guide. He had a deep appreciation and respect for the animals and landscapes of the La Paz region, which reflects the mission of the whole Baja Sur Tours operation. (I was also very impressed with La Paz’s careful management and regulation of the whale shark tourism industry, which is often problematic in other parts of the world.) Overall, this tour was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone with prior snorkeling experience and an interest in the marine fauna of La Paz.

5.00Julio, the boat captain, was knowledgeable and patient as he got us in and out of the specific sites and Diana was an amazing guide and interpreter. She clearly has a deep affection for sea lions and was able to describe the joy of life as well as the challenges that sea lions face mostly due to the bad behaviour of humans. It was more challenging to swim with the whale sharks, but again, Diana was patient in helping us fully enjoy the experience. I would totally take this tour again with Julio and Diana!

5.00This trip is fantastic. The swimming with the sea lions and the whale sharks was wonderful. The guide and boat captain were very helpful in getting in the water in a position to see the animals safely and ethically. Lunch on the island was delicious, our dietary needs respected and plenty of drinks to keep you hydrated. The island is so beautiful. Nice tour of several bays of historic and cultural significance. Also stopped by several bird colonies for extra wildlife encounters. We had a wonderful experience. Be sure to bring your camera, some extra towels to dry off after your swims and some dry warm clothing for the boat ride home. This tour is professionally run and managed.

5.00Exceptional day tour snorkeling with sea lions near Espiritu Santo Island followed by lunch at the beach, viewing seabird colonies, and an amazing final snorkeling with whale sharks in the designated protected area. Our guide Chrissy was outstanding and did an amazing job leading the tour. Passionate, extremely knowledgeable, great swimmer, exceptional people skills - she is the best!!! Luis did a great job as captain followed by his grandfather who was equally skilled. My partner and I have traveled the world for many years and experienced many amazing things. This was one of the best!!

5.00Excellent day on the water. We snorkeled with whale sharks, saw sea lions and had a great picnic on the beach. It was cold and that detracted from the experience especially given it is a long boat ride from the whale sharks to the sea lions but the outfit does not control the weather. Recommended!
