What To Expect
Snorkel with the biggest fish in the ocean, the whale shark! We will also take you snorkeling with the friendly sea lions in San Rafaelito, where you will also get to witness a beautiful coral reef full of colorful fish. End this amazing half-day tour with a visit to one of Mexico’s best beaches: Balandra, where you will enjoy fresh ceviche and cold beer while you dip your toes in this incredible turquoise-water sandy beach. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Only 14 boats are allowed per turn, with 4 daily turns: 7 am, 9 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm. For the 7 am and 9 am turns, we request spots via WhatsApp the day before at 3 pm, and spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If we don’t secure a morning slot, we request a spot for the 12 pm or 2 pm turns the next morning. We will get in contact with you if we don’t get the desired turn to let you know the turn we got assigned. Please plan your schedule accordingly.

5.00This was an amazing trip. The sea lions are the most fun we ever had snorkeling and our guide and captain were very knowledgeable and fun. We had booked a combined trip with Whalesharks but our boat wasn't allowed in the Whaleshark area (there is a lottery) , but the crew more than made up for it and took us to an amazing snorkeling spot instead. In addition, the tour operator promised us that we can get on a boat with a guaranteed spot for the whale sharks the next day and he delivered.

5.00This was a wonderful adventure. Christiane was a great guide, informative and helpful in the water to assist people in locating the whale shark as well as getting good views. He also filmed the encounters. Juan Carlos was an excellent captain.

5.00What a wonderful adventure, and Tuna Tuna Tours made it so memorable. Let me start out with it was cold and it took so long to find the whale sharks. Our almost despaired of being able to find any, and then we did. What I appreciated the whole time is that our tour guide and boat captain kept us informed, shared all updates, and helped set our expectations for the trip ahead of time. We knew the water was choppy, cloudy, and the sea churning, which are not good conditions to find or track the whale sharks. The time with the sea lions was so special. They keep their tour groups smaller, not overwhelming the eco system, supporting all their swimmers, and ensuring everyone has equal time, even if it has to be condensed. The lunch was so delicious, and my husband and I felt so taken care of. If you have the chance to go swim in La Paz, chose Tuna Tuna tours as your go-to support team.

5.00Stephanie was a great guide. She was very knowledgeable and informative. It was very obvious that she cared deeply about the whale sharks' well-being. The excursion was very well-planned and executed. She was very helpful with people who needed a hand. She made sure everyone had ample opportunity to swim with the whale sharks. They had snacks and drinks for us. It was quite cold with the wind. Bring towels, change of clothes, a sweater, and a wind breaker. If you're coming from a cruise ship, be very careful because it takes about 20-25 minutes for the shuttle to take you from the terminal to the pigeon statue. There's another 15 minutes of brisk walking to Marina de la Paz. You have to cross the street from the bus terminal where they drop you off and walk along the shore until you see Marina de la Paz. It was after Legaspy Street. Our boat was waiting for us because they had promised they would after I'd contacted them and told them we'd be coming from a cruise ship and might be a little late.

To be in their element and appreciate the contribution they provide for the planet, makes you walk away with the need to insure you do your part in protecting them and the planet as well.

5.00Very enjoyable outing. The snorkeling with the whale sharks was amazing. Stephanie was a great guide. Very conscientious about following the rules so as not to stress out the whale sharks. Nonetheless we got to swim right next to them for long periods of time. She then send emails with great videos of the whole thing, so you don't have to spend your time photographing, you can just concentrate on enjoying the experience

5.00Snorkeling trip of a lifetime! My boyfriend and I have never done anything like that and we’re so glad we were able to. Maritza and Marco did an amazing job! They answered questions we had about the fish and areas we visited and did a great job taking care of us! We were able to get great views of the whales and sounds like we had a better system and actually got to spend more than the usual 5 minutes in the water than other companies with larger groups, we were a small one!
