- Departure La Paz-Puerto Chale between 7 : 40 am - 8 : 00 am (2 hrs approx) - Panga type boat sighting (2.20 hrs approx) - Lunch in local restaurant Return Welcome to the best whale watching!!, we will leave the city of La Paz to head to one of the most important shelter sites for the gray whale, where in addition to meeting one of the giants of the sea we will also have the opportunity to observe birds and dolphins. Once we arrive at the port we will board a boat that will take us along the mangrove path until we reach the sighting area where we will stay for two hours watching the gray whale. It is important to remember that we do NOT harass whales, our work to protect the species has characterized us for years, this makes the trip unique and special! When you return to port we will offer you food in one of the local restaurants, there we will stay about 11⁄2 hours. At the end of your food we will board transportation to return to the City of Peace where we will drop you off at the point where we picked you up. It is important to mention that throughout the time they will have a guide who will provide information.

Superb excursion Excellent value for money We are picked up in La Paz in a comfortable car the drive to Puerto chalet was very nice and allows to see the scenery. Then we stayed a long time with the whales that were numerous and that we could see up close. Lunch at the restaurant was delicious:)

On the site that we booked, they gave very little information about the excursion. With misgivings, we signed up anyway. It turned out to be a two hour drive there and then we were on the ocean for about 2 1/2 hours trying to find some gray whales and they were quite a few in the water but we couldn’t see any of them. We only saw two noses pulled up out of the water and we saw the back ofsome of the whales. It was a very boring experience. And then we had another 2 Hour drive back home. As far as I am concerned, it was a waste of money and a waste of time. Pamela, who was our guide, was terrific though.

Exceeded expectations. Saw dozens of whales, often 2-3 or a half dozen within 100 yards of our boat.

Absolutely magical experience, well worth the drive and the cost. Our guide was excellent and shared some great facts/data. The three hours went by so fast!

We understand that being a natural phenomenon, the sighting, you can not guarantee the number that will be seen, but ultimately they should not open dates if they know that the chances are low as tourists we leave disappointed and it is bad the agency and port chale since I do not plan to return and less before the comment of “if only they came in two weeks”... it is much better to open the dates in those two weeks or when really is the time where in particular they see in that port. We trusted their experience and it was a great disappointment, they lose customers, recommendations and income for the population.

We had a great experience from pick up to drop off. We had Pamela who was very knowledable and passionate about protecting the ecosystem. The price for the trip was well over $300 for 2 people which was a bit high in my opinion however they did pick us up in La Paz and the whale sightings were amazing! We were lucky as there were only 6 passengers total on a decent size boat which was also very well maintained. . This made it very easy to see the whales which were all around us. The captain was Manuel and he had a great eye for seeing the whales under the water when they approached the boat By the way we thought we would initially drive there ourselves but got picked up in La Paz instead. This was a better choice as our drive was through very isolated areas and at times we had no cell phone service so no GPS. We spent a decent amount of time on the water and several whales came very close to the boat. They were everywhere! Great experience for anyone that wants to see and learn about grey whales.

This lived up to my expectations! We were in a boat with 6 other people. Surrounded by about 15 whales, they just floated along side of us. What a beautiful and relaxing experience. We went in mid-January, our guide told us that February usually has more whales.
