What To Expect
Led by a marine biologist and limited to a small group, this experience begins with a comfortable boat ride from the marina to the Whale Shark refuge area. During the ride, you’ll receive a brief safety orientation and learn the guidelines in place to protect these magnificent animals. Once geared up with your wetsuit and snorkeling equipment, prepare to be amazed. Enter the water for an unforgettable close encounter with these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Our experienced, certified captains and guides ensure a safe, respectful, and truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Join us for this extraordinary adventure and check it off your bucket list. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Only 14 boats are allowed per turn, with 4 daily turns: 7 am, 9 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm. For the 7 am and 9 am turns, we request spots via WhatsApp the day before at 3 pm, and spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If we don’t secure a morning slot, we request a spot for the 12 pm or 2 pm turns the next morning. We will get in contact with you if we don’t get the desired turn to let you know the turn we got assigned. Please plan your schedule accordingly.

5.00Super nice tour including guide, boat, and captain. Due to rules and to protect the animals, the time in water is short, but the crew makes sure you enjoy the activity and stay safe while explaining every detail in advance. They did their best so everyone could swim with and see the whale sharks from very close. Would definitely recommend this as a must do when in La Paz.

5.00Sometimes things just dont go as planned but Tuna Tours did an outstanding job fixing the issues to give us an memorable experience. Juan Carlos was our whale shark guide. I cant remember the captains name. But both did an amazing job. The captain and guide worked hard to find us a whale shark that was not swimming by too fast. Found some that were just feeding and we could just float with them. We would not hesitate to book with them again.

5.00The tour was well organized. 10 snorkelers on boat were divided into 3 smaller groups. The guide took one group at a time. We were each able to swim with a whale shark 3 different times. It was safe & fun.
