What To Expect
8h05: Pick up at Cat Ba Local Office. 9h00: Boat cruises off Lan Ha bay, passing by Cai Beo Fishing Village, Lan ha bay center. 11h00: Kayak through hidden lagoons, tunnels, and archways: K.A cave and Bats cave. 12h00: Enjoy a vietnamese traditional lunch. 13h00: Boat drops the anchor at Ong Cam islet for sumptuous traditional Vietnamese lunch 13h30: Afterwards, boat continues to sail off Southern Ha Long bay, passing by Dau Be Island, Vung Vieng fishing village, Le Virgin arch and The Kite arch where is the most less-touristy place on both Lan Ha and Ha Long bay. 15h00: Kayaking, Swim and Relax at Ba Trai Dao Beach which is very natural, remote, quiet and less-touristy; discover the temple beach, more lagoons and arches by kayak 17h00: Enjoy the magical sunset on our floating homestay. 18h00: You will have dinner with the fisherman and experience the taste of culture. 19h00: Follow our guide to kayak or swim at night. On the kayak, every time you paddle, you will see it sparkle along, lighting up the magical blue light. It will probably be the most magical moment you’ve seen in your life. 21:00: Boat back to the harbour, then stop to our office

The local guides share their experience with you and we had a great time with them. We had a very complete, park/bay, day/night tour. Much recommended! Thank you to the whole tea, it was a pleasure!

5.00Had a great experience did a 2 day tour with several activities, loved swimming in the water it was so still and calm we were one of the only boats in the area which was peaceful. Luu was a great tour guide great English and helped with any questions I had. Food was good and the views were amazing

3.00Although our guide was friendly, and the meals were excellent, the overall experience was disappointing. - The boat was old and poorly maintained, with a filthy toilet, the life jackets borrowed from the kayak operator were disgustingly dirty. The route was definitely not less touristy as we encountered 11 boats gathered at the kayaking site at one point - and we had to wait to enter the cave. The other groups we met at least had their own vests, the same color, which made it easier to find your way around in such a flood of kayaks. Additionally, the trip lacked organization; it was actually a combination of two separate tours. At one point we were left without a guide for 45 minutes at the floating homestay, waiting for the next part to join. Overall, I do not recommend this tour due to these significant issues.

5.00I can only echo the other reviews here. 12+ hours on the water with the most amazing views. Small group, good vibes and somehow they manage to avoid the bigger groups. Just perfect. Highly recommended!

5.00Fantastic tour! So happy I did this, I did the day trip cruise and night kayaking combo and it was a full and fun day! So interesting seeing the fish farm up close, and we spotted brown and black monkeys on the islands!! the water was warm for the bioluminescent plankton at night. Ryan and Luu were fantastic guides with a great vibe!

5.00We had a great experience with Viet and Luu from Cat Ba Local. We did both the full day boat and kayaking tour, as well as night kayaking. Both times we were with a small group of people which allowed us to really enjoy the nature. Both trips were operated like clockwork, and were very organised. The local guides were knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. The food served on the boat was fantastic, and catered very well to vegetarians. If you have any doubts about the plankton tour, it’s well worth the trip. We were told to pick a day with a dark sky (I.e clouds) for the best experience. They picked us up from and dropped us off ant our hotel which makes it very easy. We would highly recommend Cat Ba Local.

5.00The day/night cruise trips were great! Very relaxing for the day cruise and speechless for the night kayaking as we saw the bioluminescent plankton and the luminescent jellyfish. It was incredible. A long day though so if you have time I would recommend to do 1 day for the day cruise and the next day the night trip or vis versa. Our guides were super nice and helpful but I particularly loved Ryan’s energy and his English was mind blowing as he never left Vietnam, apparently. I had a great time the entire time and the views were amazing. Not many people on the boat with us and only 2-3 other cruises boats where we were stopping so it doesn’t feel super touristy and quite preserved. And the food was also great! I highly recommend Cat Ba Local 👌🏼

5.00This tour is spectacular. For two days we lived an unforgettable experience. Our guides Viet, Ryan and Luu were amazing. Very attentive and able to make you feel the love for their island and their environment. The activities were amazing. The boat ride, the kayak ride, the swimming through illuminating seaweed, the hike through the national park, sleeping in the bay on a houseboat... it's incredible. 100% recommended Cat Ba Local and their guides. The best choice

5.00We did the whole day trip.ob the very comfortable boat of the local owner. No big conpany and not a full boat. The trip was amazing, the guide very nice guy (thanks Luu🤎) and the trip was well organized with picking up service, nice food ib Board and the kayak tour was a lot of fun. 100% recommendation. The combines tour means 2times kayaking, we loved it!
