Wolong national Nature Reserve is the earliest, largest, and best-know panda reserve in the world. It was hit by the catastrophic Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008. After years of road construction, travelers can visit Wolong Panda Base now. Accompanied by a professional panda expert who introduced you the topics of the panda discovery, the history of panda in China, the classification, and panda conservation.
***Starting from April 25, 2024, panda volunteers will not be allowed to enter the panda enclosure, and the arrangement of clean the panda enclosures & collect panda poop will be canceled.
Notes for panda volunteers:
1.No perfume, no cologne, no nail polish, be healthy (don’t get cold).
2.wear shoes (no slippers or Crocs).
3.Sunscreen and sunglasses will be useful.
4.Any activities missed due to being late will not be rescheduled, and guests will bear the consequences.

We collect the additional fee RMB100 for Shuangliu airport pickup or drop-off.

Panda volunteering Requirements: 8-70, healthy, no infectious diseases.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Wolong Giant Panda Nature Reserve
Located at the southwest of Wenchuan County, and first constructed in 1963, it is one of the earliest comprehensive national reserves. The place has more than 100 pandas, accounting 10% of the total number in the country. Besides, there are other rare animals and plants as well as rich water resources.

5.00We are very happy with our tour at Wolong Panda Reserve. Our guide Keira (and the driver) was friendly and informative, and created an exciting day for us. The pandas were very happy and playful on a cold rainy day ☺️. Keira also took us to the memorial site of the 2008 earthquake which was along the way back to the city. I would highly recommend this tour.

5.00Our tour guide, Heather, was absolutely wonderful! Her English was perfect, and she was so personable, kind, and knowledgeable throughout the entire tour. She even surprised me with birthday flowers at the end, which made the day extra special. The driver was also very nice and professional, making the whole journey smooth and comfortable. The experience at the panda center itself was incredible — truly once in a lifetime. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat!
Wonder experience, it is a mush see place for me. Here we are sharing love with endanger animal.

5.00I had an amazing time with Heather as my guide. She is so knowledgeable and so easy to talk to. She told me about Chinese history and culture as well as a lot of facts about pandas! I went by myself and I felt so safe the whole time.

5.00Brief: It was two amazing days with a lot of fun, interactives, and the wonderful company of the guide. I strongly recommend visiting Chengdu with My Panda Tour (5/5). More details: My wife and I had a tour around China, and we firmly decided to take part in a volunteer program and to see the most extraordinary sights in the city. So, we googled tour companies and found My Panda Tour (I also recommend using their official website because, from my point of view, it's more suitable than TripAdviser). We contacted them and booked the Wolong Panda Base Private Tour. Also, together we came up with a new direction, "1-day Sichuan Cooking and Sichuan Opera Tour," thus making our dream come true. Paid by Paypal without any surprise. Messaging in WeChat (standard in China). Although it was May and rainy weather, all the stuff was super positive and friendly. They picked us up near the hotel lobby, suggested raincoats, conducted excursion during a transfer, and passed us to base with no line. I won't describe the Panda Base; better just visit it. Guide made loads of us' photos. On the next day was exactly the same; many impressions. I can say more: buddies made clips from our videos; that's cute, and I'm really appreciative of these. Merely f*cking magnificently, I hope we'll cross paths with this team in the future again.
Volunteering in Wolong and Dujiangyan

5.00The first day I went to volunteer in Wolong, Rosa was my tour guide and Nie was the driver. They were very punctual in arriving, Rosa told me a lot about the pandas and gave me some curious information, arriving at the place no one else had volunteering scheduled so Rosa accompanied me in each activity. I was able to enjoy a lot of time watching the pandas, it's quite quiet so it was nice. I would have liked to see the pandas more closely, or have had a closer type of interaction through volunteering, but unfortunately it is not possible, what can or cannot be done depends on the center so it can only be abided by. The activities are to clean a space (take out the garbage and poop from the pandas), split bamboo, see how they feed one of them (without photos), make a panda pancake, watch a documentary and at the end they give a diploma plus some souvenirs. The second day I did the same volunteering but in Dujiangyan, this time only with Nie as the driver, again very punctual, the same activities. Nie, despite not speaking English at all times, made an effort to keep me informed of the activities and accompanied me, for which I appreciate her commitment. In Dujiangyan there were more people volunteering, and in general there were more people in the center so it can be a little noisier, however, the spaces, despite being large, allow you to see the pandas very closely so You can enjoy them more, but you don't see babies unlike Wolong where there are many small pandas. In general I would have liked a little more interaction with the wonderful giant pandas, but the management of mypandatours is appreciated, I did not have any problems, they were very punctual and committed, in addition to being safe, communication was also good at all times so I think it was a very good option to have everything prepared beforehand with them. 5.00It was amazing! Jason our guide was very knowlable and patient, he answered all out questions about the Pandas. The volunteering was very interesting and we could see them from a close distancie. We could notice the team has a lot of experience on the panda conservation. We were very lucky the day we went as it snowed some hours before we arrived so the pandas were quite active. We loved it!

Nie, our super helpful and caring guide, picked us up on time from your Chengdu hotel. Nie went above and beyond by assisting us in purchasing tickets, making sure we had snacks, and ensuring a hassle-free journey. We were fortunate to visit during autumn, when the trees surrounding the base displayed vibrant and colorful hues, creating a picturesque backdrop for the adorable pandas. With fewer people around, we were able to thoroughly enjoy our time there. Alvin and his team truly deserve praise for their outstanding service and attention to details making the complete experience so memorable.
