Gananoque is the gateway to the 1000 Islands, located approximately 3 hours from Toronto, two hours from Ottawa, and three hours from Montreal. Gananoque is just 15 minutes from the border crossing into New York State via the 1000 Islands Bridge and is only 50 minutes from Watertown. Our community is accessible from Highway 401 and Highway 2 from Kingston, Ontario.

Gananoque, the Gateway to the 1000 Islands, is internationally recognized as one of Eastern Ontario's most stunning waterfront communities and is thoroughly enjoyed by residents, tourists and the local business community.
McDonald Island is an islet in Ontario. McDonald Island is situated nearby to White Calf Islands, and close to Ynysrag Island.

3.00Interesting experience with my husband and daughter departing from Gananoque (1 hour), just 30 minutes from Kingston. I had purchased tickets online. Excellent telephone assistance for some clarifications on parking ($9) right in the square in front of the ticket office. I think maybe it would be better to start higher along the St. Lawrence River (e.g. The one that starts from Ivy Lea in the heart of the 1000 islands or maybe do the one that lasts 3 hours). In short, interesting but not exciting
