As one of the major resorts of the Highlands, Fort William commands an important position and is easily accessible from Glasgow and the central belt. There is a footpath to the top of the mountain starting close to the town.

Am just back from my first ever solo trip to the Highlands and Skye. From start to finish it was excellent. We saw lots of places and I learnt things I didn't know before - even having lived my whole life in Edinburgh. Our driver Jim was great and very knowledgeable and funny at times and I must mention I really liked his choice of music throughout our three day tour. My accommodation the Caledonian Hotel in Portree was lovely - spotlessly clean and a good breakfast with very friendly and welcoming staff. All in all well done Timberbush.

My favourite part was that Brian was our driver with the Hairy Coo company. I loved that trip. It was amazing, fantastic, gorgeous. Brian made the experience even more wonderful. We were really lucky that he was our driver. I want to do again the tour. Three days passed so fast. Thank you Brian. One part of my heart belongs to Highlands!

Fantastic trip with Andrew. He was a wonderful guide and took care to show us things that were of specific interests of the group. Amazing experience and views, his love for the area was contagious. Wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes! Definitely call ahead for dinner bookings. Portree is small but charming so plan ahead.
