Colossi of Memnon
**Colossi of Memnon, Luxor, Egypt** The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, standing at the entrance of his long-vanished mortuary temple on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor. Each statue is over 18 meters (60 feet) tall and dates back to the 14th century BC. Despite centuries of erosion and earthquakes, the statues remain an iconic symbol of ancient Thebes. Historically famous for the mysterious "singing" sound one statue emitted at dawn (reported in ancient Greek texts), they continue to captivate visitors with their sheer scale and storied past. A quick but unforgettable stop on any Luxor West Bank tour.
Valley of the Kings
**Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt** The Valley of the Kings is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, located on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor. This ancient royal burial ground was the final resting place of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs, including the legendary Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses VI. Carved deep into the desert hills, the tombs are richly decorated with colorful hieroglyphics and scenes from the afterlife. A visit offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient Egyptian beliefs, art, and burial practices. Guided tours provide access to several tombs, each with unique architectural and artistic features. A must-see destination for history and archaeology lovers.

Nestled beneath the dramatic cliffs of the Theban Mountains on Luxor’s west bank, the temple dates back to the 15th century BC and is considered a masterpiece of ancient architecture. Designed in terraces that blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, the temple features detailed reliefs depicting Hatshepsut’s divine birth and her famous expedition to the Land of Punt. A highlight of any West Bank tour, this site offers deep historical insight and stunning photo opportunities.
Temple of Karnak
**Temple of Karnak, Luxor, Egypt** The Temple of Karnak is the largest religious complex ever built in ancient Egypt and one of the most awe-inspiring sites in Luxor. Spanning over 200 acres, this vast temple complex was developed over 2,000 years and is primarily dedicated to the Theban Triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Highlights include the Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 colossal columns, intricately carved hieroglyphs, and sacred lake. Karnak was not just a temple but a powerful religious and political center. This is the 2nd trip I have done with ERT, the Director Yasser is very friendly; kind and caring. Communication from begining to plan the trip was easy and Yasser checked in with me during the trip to ensure everything was going to plan: including ensuring I arrived home safely. I would highly recommend this company. Their drivers are all professional. A special mention to Egyptologist Mohamed; who is a wealth of knowledge and a great guide.

The tour that we took was very well organised and well executed by the tour operator. It went without any hiccups except the balloon ride which was cancelled due to strong winds so if you book this to be prepared, that this is a very dependent on the weather. The boat was comfortable with plenty for buffet meals. You do not know which boat you’re going on until the day as they allocate based on demand. However, all the boats are very similar so do not worry. Be prepared that most the time the boat is parked along the river with a boat either side so you do not have any view outside the room window, so unless you are first on the dock or your on the outside boat you do not have a view. All the boats have a sun deck and an area to relax on top. So there is really no need to have a balcony or worry about the view out the window, as you can always go to the top deck. However, when the boat is travelling, you get a great view out of all the windows. Be prepared that while a lot of the itinerary is paid for however there is additional tours that you have to go on, that do cost extra and you have to build in tips for your guide and boat so you do budget to add on an additional USD 500 per pax to cover everything. Our guide Don was superb, very flexible and knowledgeable. The temples are breathtaking and it is a real bucket list trip you must do once in your life! I highly recommend the tour operator and thank you for taking very good care of us. The biggest problem you will have is too many photographs to sort through on your return!

Our tour in Luxor and Aswan, organized by Egypt Rest Tours, was an unforgettable experience! Everything was well-planned, and we felt taken care of every step of the way. In Luxor, our guide Mr. Yousef was absolutely amazing—very professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. He even added a fun twist to the tour with a little game for us. To top it off, he gave us some thoughtful souvenirs, which was such a nice and personal touch. In Aswan, we were guided by Ms. Reem, who was also incredibly informative, especially when it came to sharing the rich culture of the Nubian tribe and the significance of the temples we visited. She took us to a local restaurant where we had some of the most delicious and authentic Nubian food—a real highlight! The hot air balloon ride in Luxor, which was included in our tour package, was simply amazing and truly unforgettable as well! And a big thanks to all our drivers especially to Osama, who was so cheerful and full of energy throughout the tour. Even though he spoke only a little English, we had no problem communicating and really enjoyed his company. He made the long drives comfortable and safe, and his positive vibe was infectious. We highly recommend Egypt Rest Tours for anyone planning to explore Luxor and Aswan—you’ll be in great hands!
