Valley of the Kings
The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis./ The wadi consists of two valleys: ...
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
It is 97 feet (30 m) tall. The unusual form of Hatshepsut's temple is explained by the choice of location, in the valley basin of Deir el-Bahari, surrounded by steep cliffs. It was here, in about 2050 BC, that Mentuhotep II, the founder of the Middle Kingdom, laid out his sloping, terrace-shaped mortuary temple.

Use the full allotted time! There’s so much great history to experience. Angie, was knowledgeable, patient and friendly. We asked and she even shared some great local recs for local food! Also check ahead with exhibitions for which tombs are open and closed. This can vary and you may not be able to see your top choice.

A group of 7 of us of differing abilities booked a private tour of the Sest Bank with Luxor Egypt. Our guide was Hany and driver Ahmed. We had a wonderful day, and Hany looked after us beautifully. He organised all the tickets and gave us just the right amount of information about everything. Everything ran ,like clockwork. I highly recommend this company.

Good day had by all. Our guide Bahaa was a pleasure, gave enough information without going OTT and left us to explore at our leisure but was there should we have any questions. Thank you Bahaa.

My husband and I booked the full day tour of the West bank. I recommend choosing the option to include entrance fees and lunch! Everything was taken care of and a breeze. We didn't have to worry about waiting in line to get tickets and walked in right away. Our guide Ereen was great. She is very knowledgeable and friendly. At the beginning of every spot, she gave an explanation of each site and was very clear and concise. After, she gave us free time to explore on our own. Lunch was also very delicious! We had a great experience.

The tour - simply unforgettable. Our guide Hassaan was fast and accommodating to all of my early responses and carried on the same efficient professionalism on our personalised tour. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the wonders of the West Bank are first rate. Lunch was an Egyptian feast in small, clean, modern and hygenic restaurant. “Highly recommended”

This was a good introduction to the essential tombs and temples sites on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor. Ahmed Emam was a knowledgeable and kind guide on this personal tour. The food at the restaurant was good and the driver was prompt. Recommended.

Great guide and all experiences booked were up to expectations. Could have done without the Alabaster shop visit. Lunch was very good.

We only booked a driver (Ahmed) for this tour and he was amazing. Good communication, neat driving and very patient. He was always immediately there when we were done visiting a site. He even agreed to drive us to the bank because we had to sort something out and he waited 15 minutes there for us. Our day was very successful because of Ahmed!

Sayed Gamal and his excellent driver Ahmed gave us a wonderful tour around the West Bank of Luxor—including the Valley of the Kings, the Medinet Habu Temple, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Valley of the Workers. Sayed is extremely knowledgeable and really knows his stuff (plus he’s fluent in multiple languages, a very intelligent guy). He gave us in-depth explanations of all the incredible historic sites we saw, including explaining the hieroglyphics and ubiquitous wall paintings that adorned the temples. Sayed did an incredible job providing the historical, cultural, and religious context necessary to more deeply appreciate these New Kingdom monuments. Any questions we had, Sayed was prepared with a thoughtful answer. We learned A LOT from Sayed about the New Kingdom Pharaohs, their burial practices, and the Ancient Egyptian religion. Entry to most sites is included with the tour package, which is a nice perk (that many other competitor tour companies often neglect). Note that if you want to see King Tut specifically, you’ll have to pay a small additional fee on-site for entry — well worth it in my opinion (they accept card). However, even if you forgo Tut, there are several other more aesthetically impressive tombs included “for free” with your ticket. Sayed was patient at each stop and we didn’t feel rushed while soaking it all in. There was a free lunch included (soft drinks have a small fee), which was surprisingly good. They had several vegetarian options available, and the size of the spread was a veritable feast. There is also a stop at an alabaster souvenir shop — but if you don’t want to buy anything, you can just enjoy the free mint tea they give you and the craftsmanship explanations. At the end of the tour, Sayed was also kind enough to help arrange a felucca (boat) ride on the Nile during sunset—the views were jaw dropping. Pick-up from the hotel was super smooth and convenient. Overall, an excellent tour from Sayed and Ahmed. It would’ve been incredibly tedious to arrange efficient transport and entry to all the sites we saw, but Sayed and Ahmed made it super straightforward and easy. Would recommend them to anyone visiting Luxor! Don’t even think twice about booking this tour—the mesmerizing tombs, temples, and treasures you will see will blow your mind.
