Valley of the Kings
The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis./ The wadi consists of two valleys: ...
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
It is 97 feet (30 m) tall. The unusual form of Hatshepsut's temple is explained by the choice of location, in the valley basin of Deir el-Bahari, surrounded by steep cliffs. It was here, in about 2050 BC, that Mentuhotep II, the founder of the Middle Kingdom, laid out his sloping, terrace-shaped mortuary temple.

*WEST BANK TOUR* This was our second tour with Sayed, with whom we had done a half day East bank tour the day before. Sayed has a directive style of guiding, but was punctual and accomodated our requests to adjust the schedule, which we appreciated. Lunch was great, and he also arranged for us to have a snack when we were hungry. Water bottles were not provided. We started at 7:30am and finished at 3:30pm, which felt like a good duration. Ending with the temple of Ramesses III was a real highlight, not to be missed!

We picked up at the correct time from the hotel. The driver and the guide was very polite. The guide did not explain the stories and the writings in detail, instead she briefed the things. The lunch we had was also very tasty. Overall I can recommend this tour.

The tour guide picked us up in tjme. Her English was hard to understand. Some knowledge about the west bank helped me to comprehend her. She was organized though. She bought all tickets before hand which saves a lot of time since we visited many sites. All of which required tickets. She explained when we entered the sites then gave us free time to explore on our own.

Booking was confirmed right away and company very responsive to communicating via WhatsApp. Our guide Bahaa arrived on time for pickup and was outstanding in explaining the history beforehand as guides cannot go into tombs. Comfortable ac minivan. Half hour drive to valley of kings. We had decided on our own to see the specialty tombs only and had purchased tickets in advance which is not needed as you can buy on site. Be careful at the Egypt esite for tix as it showed me the date I wanted but then when I printed the tix they were for the following day so I had to change my tour date. It did the same for the Giza tickets. Just buy at site. We chose king tut, Ramses, and Sety tombs which are worth the extra cost. They are amazing! You get access to three regular tombs with the valley of kings entry ticket but they are just ok without as much detail in them. So if you can afford it do the three specialty only and skip the rest. Allow two hours total for the three as they are right next to each other at the valley. There is a small cafe and restrooms. Then see the two temples which are close as well for which a total of two hours are adequate. Queen Nefertiti tomb is closed. Did not see the need to visit any other tombs. Had a two hour lunch at a hotel. Started at 10 and back to hotel by 5. Rather than rushing, see east bank one day and West Bank another day. Used same company day before for east bank as well.

We had an amazing trip to the West Bank of Luxor, and it was truly made special by our tour guide Ereen and our driver Ahmed. Ereen was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. She explained the history and stories behind each site in a clear and interesting way, and she was always patient and happy to answer our questions. Her passion for Egyptian history really brought the places to life. Ahmed was an excellent driver—professional, calm, and very reliable. We felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the journey, and he was always punctual and courteous. Together, Ereen and Ahmed made the day smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. We highly recommend them to anyone visiting Luxor and exploring the West Bank!
