Hany Amir was our driver from Aswan to Abu Simbel. He was a wonderful influence on our experience due to the long drive there and back. He ensured we were comfortable and well looked after and he shared a lot of history about Egypt, the Sahara landscape that we saw on the drive. Once we arrived at Abu Simbel we were taken aback by the stunning statues and temples. Job well done, Hany!

KOKO took me on a trip to Abu Simbel. He has a new 2025 BYD sedan with no cigarette smell and a comfortably cool air conditioning system. Highly recommended!

This tour was truly exceptional. From start to finish. The driver (Hany) drives to Abu Simbel every day, and knows the road so well. Do not be alarmed if your Egyptian driver drives in the other lane to avoid the rough spots. The guide (Omar) was fluent in english and had studied Egyptology, history and english in university. Both of them made the trip totally worthwhile, and attended to our every need. Omar paid for the golf cart, bought additional drinks and snacks, etc. We were so pleased with the fact that we could spend as much time at the site as we wanted (2+ hours). Bothe the driver and guide were known by the security guards and made great recommendations for which vendors to go to. We also went to a spice wholesaler as well in Aswan. Six stars!

With Hani as the driver and Omar as the guide, We had a safe and amazing trip to see the breathtaking Abu Simbel temples. Hani made us feel safe with his driving on an otherwise dangerous road, and Omar explained all of the history of Abu Simbel with great depth and detail. Overall it was an amazing experience that all visitors to Aswan should experience.

The evening before, quite late, I contacted this company to arrange a driver. They quickly organized someone for the early morning, 4 AM, to take me to Abu Simbel. (6,5H back and forth) I had specifically asked for a professional driver, as I’d had some uncomfortable experiences in Egypt before. They sent Koko who was exactly that: professional, quiet, and reliable. He drove me safely to my destination and back without unnecessary conversation or personal questions. He made sure I had water, a snack, and even some orange juice. Just straightforward, no-nonsense service on good roads. Awesome! Made for a relaxed drive!

Our driver, Hany, texted the night before to confirm our location and pick-up time. We chose the 4am start, which, while early, meant we were at the front of the queue when the roads opened at 5am. We stayed dowtown Cairo, so expect about a 30–40 minute wait, as there’s a long line of SUVs and buses all making the same trip. The later you leave, the further back you’ll be in the convoy, and apparently the checkpoint can sometimes (depending on where you are in the queue) can take up to an hour to clear. We met our guide, also named Hany, at Abu Simbel. He was knowledgeable and friendly, though to be honest, you could learn quite a lot just by reading up on the site beforehand. Like most key sites in Egypt, guides can’t enter the temples with you, so they provide a briefing outside. Informative, but fairly standard. Our driver, Hany, was excellent — very friendly and thoughtful about our comfort. The SUV was set up perfectly for the early start and long day, with reclining seats, curtains, snacks, and water provided. He was also supportive of us taking our time. After visiting inside we actually just sat for a little and marvelled! We took our luggage with us, as we weren't returning to our hotel, and Hany happily dropped us off at the Nubian Museum in town for us to while away a few hours before heading to the airport.
