Just completed my 4th Scottish routes tour , as always well organised, a great tour leader/ driver Rory , Rory went out of his way to make sure everyone had a great time. Excellent bed and breakfast in Granton on Spey. The distillery visits and tastings were varied but always enjoyable. If you are a lover of Speyside and Highland whisky this is a great trip to do , highly recommended.

Absolutely the best the experience….allows you to see the whisky countryside and visiting many different locations. We had a good mix of friendly tour participants…UK, USA, Aussie, Sweden :) Certainly enjoyed the salty historical stories from Rory (tour guide & driver) ….AKA Roy, Roar, Braveheart. Thank you Rory … we had a fabulous time!

Fantastic and varied introduction to Speyside Whisky. The trip also included a trip to Lindores Abbey (Lowland malt, and traditional Aqua Vita) and Highland distillery Blair Atol. The driver and crowd were brilliant and some very nice whisky was consumed by all. Even early April, despite early morning snow, some guests managed to get sunburn. 😁😂 Thank you Scottish Routes.

This was my second tour with Scottish Routes, and it lived up to the standard set on my first one to Islay! The trip was thoughtfully planned and a lot of fun. We stepped onto the bus (which is super comfy and clean) and everything from there on was taken care of: unique, interesting distillery visits; beautiful comfy BnB stays; wonderfully funny and friendly commentary from our lovely guide Rory throughout. Each stop on the tour was unique, no two were the same. We felt incredibly taken care of, and had a lovely, relaxing, fun time - and of course learned a ton and had lots of amazing whiskys. Great for whisky novices and experts alike. Thanks Rory :)

We had a fantastic 4 days touring the Speyside area and visiting a number of Whisky Distilleries along the way - all very different and and all very enjoyable. Our Driver and Guide Jamie was incredibly knowledgable and helped make a good trip into an unforgettable trip. Thanks again to all involved. We Shall both remember the journey forever.

I joined this tour as a second timer for Scottish Routes having done the Islay tour last year. Clare had given me a better rate to join them again. I didn't expect this speyside route to be so much more exclusive than the islay tour route. From cask experience to non normal visitor tours, all catered for and organized especially for Scottish routes. Jamie was a very professional yet friend like driver, with many stories, experiences, information and history to tell. The van ride on the last day was really ling up to Elgin, to Glendronach after and back to Grantown on spey, however it felt bearable due to the many distilleries we lass through. I got plenty pictures of other distilleries that weren't on the list to visit. Since the tour itself had 4 people only including myself, we managed to have a wee photo stop at various distilleries along the driving route. This tour is recommended for people that like scotch, if you're a whisk-E-y fan, throw your non scotch expectations out before coming into Scotland. That way you can experience everything with an open heart, no matter what your views on the distillery are. If you're a hardcore scotch Connoisseur, prépare your numerous sample bottles before coming in the tour, you'll need it as you will run out of them very fast. The distilleries will also give you bottles to take home. I had brought 18 bottles for the tour and ended up taking back 45 full 3cl bottles. For those that are wondering where to eat in Grantown. The Wee Penguin... Wee Puffin I mean. Prebook the place a day before as its very packed and you can never get a table on the spot. The chili con carne is very good. Hot means hot and extreme hot is very hot. It suits the Asian standards of hot and extreme hot. Scotch bonnet chillies are used. The last option of 'blow your heads off' is not for the feint of heart. I don't recommend the chili when you're drinking the very next day. The Balmoral chicken is highly recommended although it isn't a chicken stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon. The style they do there is different from others but definitely the best I've had tried across the whole of Scotland, having been there over 10 times. I definitely will be back to either do the Islay tour again with an extension or my custom tour to the northern Hebrides of Skye, Orkney and so on.

My father and I went on the 4 day Speyside tour with our guide, Nick. The whole experience was fantastic as we saw the 10 planned stops plus Nick was able to squeeze in 3 extra distilleries for us to visit over the course of the trip! The stops were well organized as we saw some new, some old, some small family owned, some big corporate owned, and even the cooperage which was really neat. On our last night we even were able to go up to the coast for some amazing pictures and a delicious meal. The accommodations for the 3 nights were very clean, welcoming, and breakfast was a perfect way to start off the day. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants a real in depth look (and taste) into Scotch whiskey.

A great four days in the company of great people. Visited lots of distilleries and tasted some excellent malts. Our driver and tour host Moray or Murray was outstanding. Nothing was to much trouble for him which made the tour very enjoyable. Many thanks to him, team USA, team Sweden and team Germany for making it a memorable trip.
