  Our guide, Wil, assisted by intern Bimo, was very knowledgeable. They took very good care of us for the three days, helping us take many good pictures and ensuring we enjoyed the adventure. Especially for the hike to Ijen, they adjusted the pace to our level, assisting us on steps when necessary, while also ensuring that we could see the amazing blue fire before sunrise.

  Thanks to Smartine and our professional and helpful tour guide Mull, we had an unforgettable experience and memory in Indonesia. First of all, February is the rainy season. The amount of water in the waterfall is too large and it is unsafe. Smartine also canceled the trip due to safety issues. Because it was the rainy season, there was a chance that we wouldn’t be able to see the beautiful scenery, but we were lucky enough to see all the beautiful scenery. Mull was our tour guide this time. He was very punctual every day and took us to a great location in Bromo where we could see the breathtakingly beautiful sunrise with relatively less tourists. Mull drives very steadily and we felt very safe along the way. He is very family with locals so he can answer most of questions during trip. Recommend!

• Amazing tour! Once in a life time experience!

  It was a wonderful experience with Didik (our driver) and Lili (not sure the correct spelling, our guide at Ijen blue fire). They are very caring and ensure we were well taking care of during the entire trip. My friend didn’t wear the proper hiking shoes and had difficulties climbing up and down Mount Ijen. Lili hold her hands for the entire journey. He even slashed himself when trying to save my friend from sliding. They are the most amazing guides I had ever met. Thumb up to them! The Ijen blue fire was magnificent! The trip requires some physical fitness but is definitely worth it. Anyone interested in going for Surabaya and Mount Ijen tour should look for them! Thank you, Didik and Lili!

• Awesome nature at its rawest

  Awesome trip, with some exciting views into the abyss. Being so close to the heart of active volcanoes is a pretty intimidating experience - nature is indeed rather fascinating! The trip was very well organised, there's never a dull moment. Both volcanoes - Bromo and Ijen are different enough by their geology, so worth to have visited both. The sunrise at Bromo is very pretty (just cold - dress warmly). Just be aware that the Ijen Crater tour down to the sulphur vent / blue flames really requires a good level of fitness, and appropriate shoes (no flip-flops, sneakers, etc.). But that is absolutely the highlight of the entire trip and shouldn't be missed!

• Exhausting but worth it

  Good trip to see the three highlights of Java. Madakaripura waterfall, Bromo and Ijen. Driving over the caldera of Bromo to see the sunrise over the vulcano. Walking down to the Ijen acidic lake and see the blue flames up close surounded by vulcanic smoke. Downside of the trip is waking up at 2h30 and midnight to start the 2 volcano trips and constant transport with the car. This is very exhausting, but if you want to see these highlights within 3 says, there is no other way.
