We were in Chester for Halloween, and decided to go to Sick to Death around 7.30pm. What an absolute let down. Right from the entrance foyer the lighting was dark, meaning you couldn't read any of the facts without using the light on our phones, there were characters trying to scare you whilst you were walking round (without success), the highlight being the short skit from the the "surgeon" half way round, which was mildly amusing. Overall, don't waste your money on this attraction.

Attended with my 13 year old, absolutely loved it ! Great experience. He loved all the gore ! I wish id come for the scared to death instead. Would have been even better. Would recommend. It does say recommended age 12+ on website. Read what its all about before going. But my son enjoyed it, and so did i, very informative and interesting

We visited today with my friend's 2 sons (aged 17 & 13). The museum is completely interactive with lots to pick up, touch, smell and get involved with which is great for the kids. There's a lot of information and interesting facts to keep the adults interested as well. Our 17 yo A kevel historian was kept equally as entertained as his 13 yo brother (who was mostly there for the disgusting stuff!). The whole thing is in an old church, with much of the original architecture and features visible and incorporated into the experience. The museum also incorporates character actors and puppet characters for you to interact with. BE WARNED: There are some bits that might not be suitable for younger children, or kids who are a bit nervous. There is an option to bypass the autopsy room and its simulated cadaver, and the section on STDs which features models of male and female genetalia is separated off. The plague doctor character might also be a bit scary for some. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend .

Visited Sick to Death as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed it. The vibe is very much fun/gore and a visit just before Halloween was perfect. The displays were interesting, informative and repulsive! We loved it!

A bit too horror for my taste regarding my kid's exposure to this kind of scary, but otherwise lots of interesting information regarding the history of diseases and medicine. For those who know to read, especially.

We visited the attraction today after going to Deva yesterday as part of the joint booking option. We anticipated that it would be a bit gory and read that it was self led. What we hadn't expected was for a live actor dressed as a plague doctor to be hidden in the second part of the attraction and effectively to be jump scared. Unfortunately my daughter had a full blown panic attack and we had to leave just as we had started. I imagine this may be an extra for Halloween. Now I realize that this wasn't anyone's fault as such but it would have been good for us to have understood this before we entered and she probably wouldn't have come in with us. The event is described as family friendly but for us this wasn't the case.

Great way to spend some time on a wet October afternoon. Overall a well put together attraction about the history of medicine and surgery. I found some areas were a bit to dark for reading. There was a lot to read, which was fine for ne but, I think some other visual methods, such as video would be beneficial.

Informative, funny, gory, and entertaining! Housed in the disused St Michael’s church, this museum of diseases and medicine strikes a great balance between educating you about plagues, diseases, and medical developments over the century and keeping it sufficiently light and entertaining. Gory in places (kids will love it), interactive, and well thought out. Note the special mention to modern celebrities Gwyneth Paltrow and one Donald Trump in the “snake-oil” bit of the exhibition. Really enjoyed my 90 minutes or so and still had the stomach for a snack afterwards.

A great deal of interesting facts to read and to see. Due the quantity of reading material, I would have preferred some of it on video.
