What To Expect
At the T2 Domestic Terminal , please check-in at the Exemplar Transfer desk, immediately on your left as you enter the Arrivals Baggage hall., before collecting your luggage. After check-in you will receive instructions regarding where to meet your driver and coach. .At Cairns International T1, please meet your driver in the Arrivals hall, after you exit Customs. The meeting point is the Exemplar desk, found opposite the Customs exit.

1.00NO COLLECTION! This company is unreliable, and uncaring. They don't open till 9am, so if you have a collection earlier and they don't turn up there is nobody you can contact. I had to get another company to take me, and when I did get to talk to Exemplar all they said was “The driver is very experienced, and had you on the list”. They refused to collect me when I asked if they had a private driver I could pay more for. They HUNG UP the phone, even though I tried to be polite about it. I waited for them 15 minutes before the time, and 45 minutes after. BOOK A DIFFERENT COMPANY, ELSE YOU RISK MISSING YOUR FLIGHT!

2.00Our transfer was on January 3rd. There was a cyclone that damaged the major highway to Port Douglas from Cairns Airport, so the trip time took three hours instead of one hour. In addition to the longer drive, the shuttles couldn’t run as frequently, so we had to wait three hours at the airport before boarding the shuttle. Our total time from landing to getting to our Port Douglas hotel was six hours. The transfer itself was lovely - friendly and safe driver, stop for bathroom, etc; however, we were not made aware of the situation by Viator or the trip company before we arrived in Cairns. This listing should be updated for the lengthier transfer while the road is repaired. Our recommendation is to reach out to your hotel or transfer company directly to coordinate your transfer during this time.
