This full-day tour from Bilbao runs in English and includes transport throughout the region. You’ll enjoy a complete guided winery visit at Marqués de Riscal, a tasting experience at the iconic Ysios winery, and a visit to one of Rioja’s beautiful medieval villages, where a tapas lunch is included.
Visit Marqués de Riscal and Ysios, two of Rioja’s most prestigious wineries — celebrated not only for their excellent wines but also for their world-renowned architecture.
If Ysios were closed for visits (we will let you know in advance) — it occasionally is, as it’s a very unique winery — we will still take you there to enjoy pictures from the outside. After that, we will bring you to a different winery with a similar style of wines to ensure you enjoy an equivalent tasting experience.

What To Expect
Bilbao
The tour starts from Bilbao and includes a scenic drive along the dramatic ridge of the Sierra de Cantabria mountains on our way to the Rioja wine region — a beautiful journey of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Bodegas Marques de Riscal
Marqués de Riscal is one of Rioja’s most historic and influential wineries, founded in 1858 and known for combining tradition with bold innovation. Its wines helped put Rioja on the world map, and today the estate is instantly recognisable thanks to the spectacular titanium-and-steel hotel designed by Frank Gehry. During your complete guided visit, you’ll explore one of the region’s pioneering wineries, learn about its winemaking legacy and enjoy a tasting of some of their emblematic wines.

5.00Good information and photo stops. The tour at the Marques del riscal winery was very impressive. Wine tasting at Ysios was very good and fine. Architecture at both wineries very impressive, definitely worth it. The red foliage of the vines were great. The town of la Laguardia with few tourists in November highly recommended.😄

5.00Marina was an outstanding guide. she was friendly, very knowledgeable about the region we were exploring, and a very good driver. We truly enjoyed learning about the architecture relating to the wineries we visited and the tours and tasting experiences that were offered. 4.00It is a full day, very educational about wine. A lot of standing and listening. Interesting contrast of methods of making wine. Architecture was a secondary issue, but our primary interest. Bad acoustics in one winery.

5.00This was quite possibly the highlight of our trip to Spain! Marina was our tour guide and she elevated the experience from a 10/10 to a 15/10! We saw the beautiful countryside, tasted amazing wines, sampled delicious food, and saw breathtaking architecture. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was worth every penny.

5.00We spent a day with Irene exploring various parts of the Rioja wine region. While travelers have many options for tours, we hit the jackpot with Irene! She helped customize a tour that perfectly matched our interests and made it possible for us to do the tour on the one day only possible for our small group. She’s super knowledgeable about wine and gastronomy, the Rioja and basque region, and full of wonderful suggestions and ideas. Everything about this tour was excellent, from the stops to the transportation, but traveling with Irene’s care and attention to detail (and her vivacious enthusiasm) made it even more special!

5.00I enjoyed the visit a lot with small group (6 pax) in good weather and the professionalism of our pretty and caring guide/driver - Marina! Time is sufficient for self exploring in both winery. Lunch is good pintxos with Cava😬. I personally wish to have a bit more time on the lovely town exploring after lunch.
