We had Nina as our guide and she was fabulous! One of the shrines was going to close early because of the Queen’s birthday and she knew this and adjusted our tour so we could visit it. She explained the various shrines and also gave us information on things to do after the tour. On the tour we got to ride a public bus, public sky train, a tuk tuk and a river taxi. Nina made sure we had water and knew where the restrooms were. She also took photos of us and sent them to me on WhatsApp.

An accident caused us to be late to the meeting point but our Toon guide was very patient and made the necessary adjustments to meet us and begin the tour. There are not enough words to express how fascinating the culture is here. The incredibly impressive temples and their huge Buddhas. The architecture, the colors, the details... everything was easier to understand with Toon.

This was a great way to see the temples. I really appreciated the hotel pick up in an air conditioned vehicle. Sunee, my guide, was the best! She was knowledgeable, kind, funny, and really tended to the needs and requests of those on the tour. She took us to each location, and really did a good job of not hurrying us, but also not staying in one place too long. She took photos, which was really nice as I was traveling solo. She also offered us the option of taking a longboat canal tour instead of the ferry and we loved it. Make sure you have the appropriate clothing to be respectful in the temples. I highly recommend bringing a hand held fan along, as it is hot when you have to be covered up.

We definitely recommend this experience if you want to see Bangkok’s main landmarks and travel as a local. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot from Wan, our amazing guide, who is knowledgeable, kind, funny and extremely helpful. The tour allows to see several shrines across different areas of the city at a pleasant pace and we also enjoyed a tasty break in a real local restaurant. Highly recommended!
