  Having been a scuba diver for over 2 decades, I was absolutely blown away by these manta rays. I had only ever seen these majestic creatures in the open water, and they were just passing by momentarily. Swimming with these mantas at night with the lights was a totally different experience. In roughly 30 minutes in the water, we had what seemed like dozens of Mantas basically touching us as they swam by. I didn’t realize that these mantas are the only ones in the world that behave and feed this way and it was truly spectacular. Mantas and gentle giants, if you go with children, make sure to explain that their throats are only the size of a dime! You literally wont see this anywhere else. 10/10

  This was one of the most incredible experiences and putting it into words can’t do it justice, just need to get out there and experience it yourself! The first time you see one you will be a little taken aback but when you see a few and realize how friendly they are you’ll have your face mere inches from their body and be excited.We had such a fun crew that got us all there safely and were happy to help anyone in need of assistance. Only warning is if you are not used to boats use a sea sick patch because you are on the water a very long time and don’t risk not feeling well through this great experience.

  I loved my manta ray experience! The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and upbeat, and they explained how the night would go from start to finish. Once we got in the water, mantas swam right around us, with several doing barrel rolls inches from our faces — it was amazing! The whole process was well organized, and we felt safe the entire time. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Big Island!

  Shout out to Captain Kelly and his crew. They did a great job. Informative about the manta rays, addressing safety, being friendly and entertaining. The experience is a must. The rays come so close that they bumped into me a couple of times. Five stars for the crew, minus one star because people should understand what they are getting into. This may not be for everyone. The boat ride out can be choppy. Then you are jumping into the open ocean at night. It takes some amount of strength to hold on to the lighted raft for a long time. The mantas can be quite large and the swim right ay you with their mouths open. We loved it, but if you are jumpy then it might not be for you.

  Captain and crew were great. Informative, helpful and entertaining. The experience itself was incredible. Hard to describe the feeling of a manta ray swimming and frolicking so close. Sometimes they seemed mere inches away. I would absolutely recommend.

  We were disappointed that Viator didn’t let us know that the excursion time was changed, so we showed up 1.5 hours early. The boat captain said Viator does that all the time. However, the actual experience was awesome.

  Captain Bryce and his crew, 2 young Hawaiian guys, were great! There were some in the group that were newbies when it comes to using snorkel gear and apprehensive about going in the water and the crew helped them feel comfortable with the gear and that they were there to help out, whatever they needed. The captain’s jokes and friendly demeanor made things super fun, also attentiveness to making this a great trip for everyone. Not only did we see multiple manta rays, and yes they come right in front of your face gliding just under the light boards, but during our sunset trip out the crew noticed whales so we stopped for a few minutes and we were treated to 2 full breaches and 1 partial. It was magical being that close to them and seeing them jump out of the water, especially with the backdrop of the sunset behind. Overall the whole crew did everything they could to make sure we had an epic adventure. Thanks!!

  What an INCREDIBLE experience!!! I’ve wanted to do this experience for over 17 years and it finally happened and it was 110% WORTH IT!! It was about a 25 minute boat ride from the harbor to the manta bay.We were in the water for roughly 45 minutes. It was pretty dang chilly, they do give wet suit tops, but they offered to take anyone back to the boat if they wanted to. We saw mantas within 2 minutes! There were about 5 other boats with a lot of people, but your head is looking in the water the whole time. Your arms get kinda tired from holding on to the raft the whole time so know that it is kind of strenuous work! But two mantas touched me! What an amazing experience. The crew feeds you and educates on it. He wasn’t wearing a mic so we couldn’t hear anything in the back seats. But they talk all about them in the water too. Great music selection on the way back too :) So incredible! Thank you guys for the opportunity!
