You’ll cork and label your own bottle, available for purchase for you to take home, all while unraveling the captivating story of Armenian winemaking, from its rich history to its vibrant present. Finally, your experience will end with a tasting with a local sommelier who will tell you all there is to know about Armenian grapes and winemaking.

What To Expect
Join us at the Hovaz Wines Tasting Room in the center of Dilijan to learn how we produce our sparkling rosé wines using the same traditional method used in Champagne, France, with the option of taking home your own bottle, which you will cork and label yourself. First, you’ll get to know the traditional method of making sparkling wine. Then you’ll see how the leese, or the leftover yeast particles produced naturally during the fermentation process, is removed from bottles that are ready to be corked. After removing the lees, you’ll have the opportunity to cork and label a bottle yourself by hand, which you can later purchase and take home with you! Finally, you’ll sit down with our expert wine guide to taste our sparkling rosé wine, paired with a local cheese and meat board. You’ll learn how to properly taste and truly appreciate this traditional sparkling wine, which we produce using the local Areni Noir red grape variety, and get to know a bit about our wide selection of local fine wines, which you can purchase from our shop.

5.00My wife and I came here to do the Tasting with Aged Wine and I am so glad we did! It was truly an awesome experience, and we were able to be guided through a number of their excellent wines and even bottle our own (for legal reasons not champagne but it's really the same in every meaningful way) sparkling wine! We heard about their story regarding donations to conservation efforts of leopards in Armenia, and their dedication to creating the absolute best wine possible. I cannot more highly recommend going here, even if you can't make it for a dedicated tasting we found their wines to be the best we had in Armenia.

Nelli (the guide and project coordinator) was a true professional who not only has a deep understanding about wine, but also truly cares for the development of good quality wine-making in Armenia. Strongly recommend anyone traveling to Armenia to visit Hovaz Wines Rooms in Dilijan!
