The tour was great and a wonderful way to get out of Budapest. I highly recommend it. On the other hand, booking it through trip advisor was a nightmare. We were charged for e-bikes after telling the agent two times that we did not want them and again when we questioned the final price (nearly double what was advertised). The local bike company is great but they couldn’t do anything about it since we booked thru a third party.

Just take the urban train to Szentendre and spend the day wandering up and down its cobblestone streets and alleys. Szentendre is the last stop on the train from Budapest and, remember, the train, like the bus, tram, and metro, is free for travellers 65+.

This was a wonderful tour….. exercise, great food (langos), excellent guide (thank you Akis), beautiful weather and scenery, interesting town of Szentendre. Highly recommend this tour as a way of seeing parts of Budapest one might otherwise miss and of experiencing local life outside the city.

We have been traveling to various cities in Europe for the last 3 months and this was our best excursion. We are in our 60s and enjoy bicycle tours but this one was wwonderful as we traveled in the city some, biked through nature on Margitsziget, traveled up the scenic Danube and ended in Szentendre. I recommend using e-bikes as it just allowed you to take everything in while traveling. Balazs our guide was amazing. Sharing his knowledge of the area gave us insights you won’t get on a big group tour. His easy going nature, letting us stop to take a picture of a bird I had never seen was so appreciated - he wasn’t driving us to be at a certain place at a certain time. My friend is gluten intolerant and he managed an alternative lunch to accommodate all of us. Szentendre was a beautiful town and we found the souvenirs there were cheaper than in budapest. We had free time to look around and shop. We came back by train which provided a different view of the area. It was 8 hours in total with the right amount of stops for drink and lunch along the way. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a lovely day (10am-6pm) biking up through the city, (stops at Parliament and Margaret Island-beautiful park!) and on a long flat well-paved stretch through Old Buda on to Szentendre, a very picturesque and hilly village where we had lunch (Hungarian Langos) and spent a couple of hours to wander, see the sights and shops. A ferry takes you back down river to Budapest, docking right in around Chain Bridge, beautiful views In total the journey was about 25km (16 miles) so be ready for this if it's a hot summer's day, as it was for us. There was also quick stop halfway for 'Frocc' (wine-seltzer mix) at a cafe along the Danube, which was much-needed refreshment. Our local guide provided great conversation and local cultural information throughout.

We went to Budapest for our honeymoon and this bike tour allowed us to explore the city. It was a wonderful experience! Balázs was our tour guide and he was very nice and knowledgeable. This was our favorite experience during our trip to this city.

My wife and I had a wonderful day with our exceptional guide Adina. Adina was ery knowledgeable about the history of the country and the area we visited. Stopping at Marguerite Island was a real treat. A beautiful spot to visit longer. Adina was always on top of our safety and making sure we were comfortable in traffic. Szentendre was a beautiful little town were we enjoyed a yummy traditional lunch and a tour of the town and also free time. Al in all a 5 star day.

This tour far exceeded our expectations. Akos is a wonderful guide. He rides cautiously and at the right pace so we can enjoy the beautiful views. The hydration stop was a very nice touch and the lunch was a Hungarian specialty Lángos. Szentendre is a darling town and we had time to walk and shop, as well as a short tour. If you're comfortable on a bike, don't miss this incredible opportunity to see things you wouldn't otherwise get to see.
