Beyond Cartagena’s beaches lies a little-known story: resilient communities, inspirational leaders and a cuisine with a local soul. This is not traditional tourism; it is your invitation to deeply connect and be an active part of Cartagena’s social transformation. Your day starts at 8:00 a.m. in the vibrant neighborhood of Gethsemane. Through the Granites of Peace Foundation, you will visit community projects that promote education, sustainability and economic empowerment. You will meet exceptional women leading change and community gardens promoting food security and local wellbeing. Back in Gethsemane, overlooking the iconic Castillo San Felipe, you will live an authentic cooking class guided by a local chef. You will prepare iconic dishes with fresh ingredients from the communities visited, taste authentic flavors and talk about how gastronomy can transform lives. Your participation directly supports the Granitas de Paz Foundation by allocating 40% to social and educational projects. Find out. Cook. Transform.

I was very lucky to get to know Granitos de Paz in Cartagena personally – and I am deeply impressed by the important work that is being done there. The foundation is committed to helping disadvantaged communities with heart and mind and creates real prospects through education programs, health care and social projects. What moved me most was the warmth and openness with which I was received. You immediately feel that people work here with passion and genuine conviction. The projects are very well organised, transparent and, above all, sustainable. It is not just about short-term aid, but about enabling long-term change.

One of the most authentic and moving experiences of my trip. You get to know a real part of Cartagena and the incredible work that Granitas de Paz Foundation does to empower its community. All very well organized by Lunatic. And the cooking class afterwards was the perfect closure! Super recommended if you are looking for something different and purposeful in Cartagena.

A truly transformative and deeply human experience. I did it with a group of friends and we all left with full hearts. Beyond the cooking (which was delicious), we discovered a side of Cartagena we never imagined—real, powerful, and full of hope. Highly recommended!
