After the government and private sector invested in social and youth programs, local residents and artists took back the neighborhoods and contributed to the miraculous transformation we see today, the streets were filled with incredible works of street art, music, street artists, and delicious local snacks.

What To Expect

We will have the opportunity to explore commune 13 in depth, visiting all the graffiti made by local artists and entrepreneurs who have found in this their way of overcoming their violent past. We will have the opportunity to understand the meaning of the murals and the social context of Medellín before and after the transformation of comuna 13. Also, we can eat and drink local snacks, such as craft beers and taste Colombian coffee.

My guide Sara was the best! She was so friendly and gave us history on comuna 13 and it’s transformation which was so interesting to learn. I would recommend this tour! it’s one of the best tours I’ve done and a must see in Medellin.

Great experience of commune 13, being a private group we could go at our own pace and enjoy how much morality we wanted. Daniel the guide was spectacular, highly informed of the situation of commune 13 and its sad history of the past. We also received local snacks and felt very safe going with a local.

Esteban was a great tour guide. He offered alot of historical information about the indigenous people of the area, the afro Colombian relevance and the tragic past experienced by the residents of the community! Its so bright and beautiful, but every image “paints a story”. Love it!

The Tour was amazing, you know many beautiful parts and that is by bike gives you a plus, plus the guide who is called Yander is exceptional! Wonderful person, very friendly and good vibe. Definitely the best options to do for Medellin. Super recommended.
