The Biodiversity of the Forests of the high areas of Costa Rica are unique with the specialty that most are endemic to these highlands of Central America. In this magical place you have the opportunity to observe the incredible Resplendent Quetzal in natural habitat as well as a great variety of Hummingbirds and native orchids that have epiphytic lives.
We offer the possibility of taking the tour in a special electric cart for people with walking problems, with an extra cost of $60 that you can pay on the day of the tour in cash or card.

Beautiful reserve and amazing birds and plants

5.00We spent a wonderful morning hiking through the reserve and spotting a variety of birds. Our guide was knowledgeable and patient and even though the elusive quetzal escaped us we saw several toucans and smaller birds and hummingbirds. With his spotting scope we were able to observe close up and get some amazing photos. Highly recommend.

5.00Roy was an excellent guide on our bird watching tour with detailed knowledge and understanding of the flora and fauna in the area. He spotted numerous species of birds and we also saw mammals as well. Overall a really enjoyable few hours visiting a lovely park and with sunshine to make it pleasurable. Thank you for a great tour and walk.

5.00We did 2 tours with Roy Gonzales, the birdwatching tour in curi court and the cloud forest tour. On both tours Roy gave us a lot of information, and he showed us and infected us his passion for his work. Plus he did his best to find us a male quetzal and made it (even though it wasn't the breeding season) Thank you Roy! We highly recommend taking your tours, Pura Vida!

5.00We saw a range of birds and other wildlife on our tour. And just as we were about to leave, a pair of Keel-billed Toucans posing for photos! Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about everything we saw. Highly recommended.

5.00We attended Roy's birding tour at the Curi Cancha reserve. Roy was knowledgable, kind, funny, and an excellent guide! Despite getting a fair bit of rain, we were still able to see lots of wildlife including various birds (12 species of hummingbird including a scintillant, keeled tucan, 2 species of warbler, parrots, a mottled owl and more), vipers, a stick bug, and huge coati family! Roy was even kind enough to take us to see more hummingbirds at another location on the drive back. We could not recommend him enough!

5.00The tour with Roy Hernandez was fantastic! You could really tell how excited he is at work and was as happy as we were when a bird or other animal showed up. His knowledge and eye for every movement was incredible and we learned and saw so much.

5.00Roy was really amazing! He had such a thorough knowledge of the birds. He made sure we had a great time, even though it was a rainy day (light mist that turned into a downpour). He had two very cool techniques for a rainy day: shining a flashlight on the bird from the side so we could see it through the scope better, and a little air blower that dried the lens of the scope or binoculars. The weather was not very cooperative but if Roy gave us this good of an experience on a rainy day, I can only imagine how great he would be on a sunny one. I highly recommend taking a tour with Roy!
