There is more active fauna at night, so this tour has a higher chance of seeing wildlife. It takes place in a transitional forest (warmer and slightly lower in elevation than “cloud forest”). It lasts about 2 hours and includes private guide, transportation and entrance fees.
If you are looking for a fun activity for kids and adults alike, you will definitely enjoy a night tour. Many mammals, birds and insects behave differently at night, and there are always wonderful surprises in store, like sleeping birds, nocturnal mammals, and lots of interesting bugs. Your guide will lead you on a safe walk through well-kept trails.

5.00This was an amazing experience! My husband and teenage brother were guided by Sergio, and we would highly recommend Sergio as your guide. He is super knowledgeable about Costa Rica and its ecosystem and the impact each animal, no matter how small, has on the environment. His passion for the nature truly shines through. 100% would recommend again!

5.00We had a very mixed experience with this tour. We had an amazingly great tour guide, Marvin, who did an amazing job of taking us through the Cloud Forest. Unfortunately, mother nature conspired to make the evening almost close to unbearable. The winds were around 30 to 40 mph and with the temperature being 62°, it felt like it was actually 52°. We were ill prepared for these weather conditions. Despite that, Marvin did an amazing job of taking his time to walking us through the forest, pointing out so much of the biodiversity, and really taking time to showing us some snakes, owls, scorpions, frogs, and countless other species of insects, birds and animals. What a Truly Amazing Pl., Costa Rica really is. Thank you señor Marvin for a wonderful evening of sightseeing.

5.00Our guide Jason gave us a fantastic night tour of the rainforest. He was able to track down all manner of exotic insects and frogs by their sounds and show us creatures we would never have known were there. His keen eyes found snakes, sloths, and sleeping birds. Exceeded our expectations with over a dozen great finds including a neon green viper, toucan, tarantula, giant unicorn grasshopper, and phosphorescent scorpion.

5.00We had a wonderful night hike in the jungle with Marco! He’s a very pleasant young man and incredibly knowledgeable about all the wildlife — birds, reptiles, insects, and even the trees. We learned so much from him. The hike itself wasn’t difficult, mostly gentle rolling terrain, and it turned out to be one of the best tours of our trip. Highly recommend!

5.00The Night Walk tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest was amazing! Marcos spotted a mother and baby sloth that had just woken up for the evening. He then took us deeper into the Cloud Forest to experience night life in the forest. Due to his vast knowledge, he spotted an eyelash viper, walking sticks, leaf cutter ants, wooly opossum and other exciting creatures. No trip to Monteverde Cloud Forest is complete without a guided tour from Marcos at Pasion Costa Rica Tours!!
Don’t look any further for a night walk in Monteverde!

5.00Amazing experience, thank you so much Marcos! In about 2 hours gentle stroll, Marcos managed to find and show us, spiders, tarentula, sleeping tucans, one sloth, beautiful frogs, a viper and tons of insects! He shared his incredible knowledge with us about the fauna and flora and, cherry on the top, made amazing pictures with our phones! A perfect and unforgettable private family experience with our two teenagers.

5.00Marcos Mendez, from Pasion Costa Rica opened our eyes to the night world of this beautiful area. Night walks are always hit and miss, but Marcos did a great job of locating hard to spot wildlife. Marcos is full of enthusiasm, speaks good English, and freely shares his extensive knowledge of nature. Some of our sightings included a gorgeous side stripped palm-pit viper, frogs, cool bugs and several napping animals including a howler, hummingbird and other birds, and oddly, a boa constrictor, very much out of his territory.
First-rate experience and wonderful people.

5.00Marcus was amazing and VERY knowledgeable. He knew how and where to look and that made the walk that much better. I told him I wanted to see insects and he didn't disappoint. Please put this guy on as your front runner if you are looking at options. He's wonderful!
