Bajra Sandhi Monument
The architecture of Bajra Sandhi Monument is very unique, taking the shape of Bajra or Genta, a bell that used by Hindu Priests during religious ceremonies. It is also a symbol of the bond between males and females that creates prosperity according to the epic that tells the story of the Gods struggle to get the Water of Eternity. Every statue and each carving in the monument compound has its own meaning. The whole of Bajra Sandhi Monument symbolizes Mount Mandara where, according to the epic Mahabarath, the Gods had a battle with giants fighting for the Water of Eternity.
Badung Market Dempasar Bali
Between Badung Traditional Market and Kumbasari Market have specialization of goods sold where Badung Market sell the daily consumption goods and other materials which the prices are relatively cheaper compared with the materials sold at the shops in Gajah Mada Street. Meanwhile, the Kumbasari Market is formerly called by Payuk Market that sold earthenware with multifarious shapes and sizes like pot, ground plate, bucket made from land, water jug and other kitchenware made from land.

Unexpected fabulous tour with knowledgeable guide

5.00We had booked our tour on Galungan, not realising that all promised attractions were closed for public holiday and celebrations. Our driver/guide Sana was very enterprising and took us to various tourist craft demonstrations and shopping in west Ubud instead so we saw batik, silver smithing, stone and wood carving, and a coffee tasting instead. Rather than expected lunch in the market he took us to a beautiful restaurant specialising in bebek dishes (duck) which was in an amazing setting with fantastic service. Our tour finished at Batuan Temple, which was decorated for the Galungan ceremonies and was quite distinctive from other temples we had visited. Not what we had originally anticipated but we really enjoyed the alternatives (possibly more than the original itinerary).

5.00Mr. Nengah is a very passionate of his religion. We learned some of also the balinese culture as visiting museums. It was a half day tour but had seen and learn about the culture.
