We depart Dublin @ 08:00, driving through the midlands down to Blarney, in the beautiful County Cork. We will pass through the Golden Vale, the most fertile lands in all of Europe with green fields as far as the eye can see.
Rock of Cashel
Our first stop will be the world famous Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary. One of Ireland's most evocative sites, you can stroll in the footsteps of St. Patrick flanked by ruins, Celtic crosses and round towers. Feel the soul of Ireland. The Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster until they donated the complex to the Catholic Church almost 1,000 years ago for use as a cathedral. One of the best examples of medieval architecture anywhere in Europe. Your entrance fee (EUR 7.00) is included in the price of this tour.

We enjoyed a beautiful day visiting the Irish countryside, visiting the castle and cathedral. Learned lots of history from our tour guide Dominic.

Our driver was Dominic. He was entertaining, a storyteller and sang some Irish songs. Also played sound tracks on fhe long highway portions of the journey. A disappointment at Blarney Castle was that you had to be in the line to kiss the Blarney Stone, could not tour the castle otherwise. Line was 90 minutes. The Poison Garden was the most interesting of the gardens walking through the grounds. The Rock of Cashel was very worthwhile and the time allowed was plenty. We went to Blarney Castle ahead of going to Cork, I think to stay ahead of cruise ship busloads. Would have preferred Cork first as it was the lunch stop, we didn't eat until 3 pm.

No absolutely not! 07:07 PM I'm sitting on the tour bus with the driver Aiden coming back from the Blarney tour. On our last pit stop while walking toward the bus, because I was one of the last to arrive back, he violently yelled at me to hurry up twice and then yelled again that it was only meant to be a pit stop!!!! Which in my opinion was exactly what it was, washroom, get a tea and head back to bus. He made us walk from the pumps that took time. Maybe next time he should drop us at the door to save time. I paid goo money for this tour and there were four of us!!! I did not pay to be disrespected or scolded like a child because he has had a long day!! His tip went out the window with his manners and I will not recommend this tour with this bus line to any one and I will make sure that I'm very vocal about this treatment! Sept 25/25 7:08 pm
