We depart Dublin @ 08:00, driving through the midlands down to Blarney, in the beautiful County Cork. We will pass through the Golden Vale, the most fertile lands in all of Europe with green fields as far as the eye can see.
Rock of Cashel
Our first stop will be the world famous Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary. One of Ireland's most evocative sites, you can stroll in the footsteps of St. Patrick flanked by ruins, Celtic crosses and round towers. Feel the soul of Ireland. The Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster until they donated the complex to the Catholic Church almost 1,000 years ago for use as a cathedral. One of the best examples of medieval architecture anywhere in Europe. Your entrance fee (EUR 7.00) is included in the price of this tour.

Great day in Ireland! Cashel is beautiful and scenic, the lunch stop in Cork enjoyable and the Blarney Castle, and kissing the stone an experience of a lifetime! A day I’ll always remember! Our guide Jerry was delightfully spirited! Recommend!

The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because the itinerary was great, visiting Blarney Castle and kissing the stone. Cork was a nice city but could not be fully seen in an hours time. There was no designated tour guide like I had on my other tour, just the old Irish driver who doesn’t help you. He failed to give any instructions or advice on places to eat or things to do and see when asked. He gave some historical announcements after passing some sights along the way but nothing that informative. Some couple was late by 15 minutes at the Blarney stone sight where we had to be on the bus by 1445 and didn't end up leaving until after 1500. That cut into our time to walk around and explore the city of Cork for an hour when it was specified as hour and half. The whole mood of the tour shifted after that. Then while we were in Cork, the bus driver dropped us off at one location and didn't specify exactly where he would be parked upon departure, causing me to go into the office and ask Paddywagon where he was. They finally called him and the bus was parked a few blocks away. It felt like the bus driver was just there to shuttle us back and forth and not guide us.

Once we figured out where to meet the coach, all was perfect. Our driver, Alex, was knowledgeable and entertaining. The tome spent at each stop was just right.

Great trip. And I was pleased with my day. However, it would have been nice to spend another 30-60 minutes at Blarney. I would have liked a bit more time to walk around the gardens. Besides the castle and kissing the stone, there wasn't much time for anything else. Maybe depart Dublin a bit earlier? Maybe cut the 20 minute rest stop on the way home?

Excellent trip! Alex was fun and had a lot of interesting stories and information. He was very concerned about everyone’s comfort and made sure there were bathroom stops. The was plenty of time at all of the stops and Alex even gave us an option to spend more time at Blarney Castle and skip Cork. Alex also gave us an alternate drop off option. Great excursion!
