We depart Dublin @ 08:00, driving through the midlands down to Blarney, in the beautiful County Cork. We will pass through the Golden Vale, the most fertile lands in all of Europe with green fields as far as the eye can see.
Rock of Cashel
Our first stop will be the world famous Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary. One of Ireland's most evocative sites, you can stroll in the footsteps of St. Patrick flanked by ruins, Celtic crosses and round towers. Feel the soul of Ireland. The Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster until they donated the complex to the Catholic Church almost 1,000 years ago for use as a cathedral. One of the best examples of medieval architecture anywhere in Europe. Your entrance fee (EUR 7.00) is included in the price of this tour.

This tour is easy to do in a day. I wish it lasted even longer to be honest. Everything is scheduled to a timeline that allows the guests to see the sights, and get to the next stop with ease. Our driver and guide, Frank was knowledgeable, and handled the discussion and driving together very well. Blarney Castle, and the grounds was amazing to see, but be warned that the climb to the top (and the stone) is not for everyone. Cork was a quaint place to have a late lunch before the trip back to Dublin.

This was a great experience. The queue at Blarney Castle could mean you don’t really get time to explore but still well worth it.

This trip was quite interesting starting with the Rock of Cashel. Quite interesting architecture for it's day. Lovely views of the countryside. Cork was a lovely find. My wife did kiss the Blarney stone. Too many narrow steps for me. But, beautiful gardens, where you could pass and entire day.
