Dave was a brilliant guide, friendly and very knowledgeable.I learnt a lot about the history of Fraser Island. The experience lasted about 12 hours from being collected from our hotel to drop off back there at the end.It took about an hour from pick up to the ferry after we picked up 2 other couples. The ferry takes about 45 minutes and is an easy crossing. The van takes mainly sand tracks around the island and just a word of warning to anyone with back problems or car motion sickness these journeys are usually very bumpy, sometimes very very bumpy. We visited lake Mackenzie for about an hour and had a nice swim.We also drove along 75 mile beach which was fun but you can't swim there even when you stop at Eli Creek as the sea is too dangerous. You can paddle in the creek though.Nice walk amongst the forest at Central Station and lunch was fine,Overall a fun tour, worth doing.I do think it's a slightly sad place in that at one time it supported a logging industry, families,a school and exported superb wood to the world. That's now all gone and it's essentially a museum for tourists as the forest overtakes former tracks and paths and closes in and the resorts on the island are up for sale due to lack of interest in staying on the island for tourists when there's so little to do beyond a day trip

Absolutely fantastic tour with Kirk, we got to visit Eli creek, central station with a walk through the forest, a lovely lunch, 75 mile beach - some passengers enjoyed a scenic flight too and also the beautifully clear lake Mackenzie! Kirk was full of knowledge and history, and delivered all of the information really well. We couldn’t recommend this trip more. We are a young couple in our late 20’s and didn’t want to go in the typical travellers tour, the rest of the passengers were 60+ and all lovely, they had some great stories to share about their lives which was perfect for us!

It was a great trip with a really excellent guide. The food was good, and the guide gave us a lot of interesting information. I would absolutely recommend this tour with this operator!

What a great way to see K’gari! Our guide, Kirk, was so knowledgeable and passionate about the island and had some great stories to share with us throughout the day The bus was air conditioned and comfy even over the bumps which made for an interesting drive We visited Eli Creek, the rainforest and Mackenzie lake and even though we’d had a delay due to traffic we had more than enough time to have a good explore of all areas We also came across an opportunity to have a flight across the island through a third party and our guide took other passengers on to see areas on the bus and came back for us Highlight was of course the dingoes! We even saw puppies

The weather wasn't on our side, but on top of that, we didn't really like the activities on offer. We first went to a river crowded with tourists and it was very hot with no shade, really uninteresting. The guide was nice, however, but it was more the activities on offer that weren't great.

The experience itself was fantastic and Dave was extremely informative. Anyone going must be prepared to be driving most of the day, but when you are out of the vehicle, the sights are wonderful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this, particularly with the small groups. My suggestion would be to book directly with the company. My commentary would be toward TripAdvisor itself, when booking, we had no option to select specific dietaries; and, the meeting time on the confirmation email was wrong. The confirmation email said to be at the river heads cafe at 7:10. This is incorrect, it’s 8am.

Really a personal tour. We got lucky and got to sit in for the whole day. David the tour guide knew how to tell a lot in a personal way. You can really tell he does this with passion. In addition, with a touch of humor. We had a great day. The experience with driving 4x4 over sand was also very cool!
