World Heritage Kinderdijk
We will pick you up from Amsterdam and we drive to Kinderdijk located in the province of South Holland. The drive will be about 75 minutes. Kinderdijk is a group of windmills and pumping stations that was created to keep the area dry. The area where Kinderdijk is located is below sea level and to avoid flooding, this system was created. Today, Kinderdijk is a UNESCO site, more famous for its stunning views. Enjoy visiting the windmills or take a boat ride to get the best view. Entrance fees is included with this tour.

This excursion was everything we’d hoped for plus more! Our driver/guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He was ready to provide information and answer questions and also step back to allow time for just the two of us (when we wanted). He listened to our interests/hopes/expectations, made a recommendation for our second stop, and it was perfect. We highly recommend this personalized day trip.

Our private day trip to Kinderdijk with Gopinath was an incredible experience. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history of the windmills come alive with his storytelling. Everything was well-organized and relaxed—highly recommend for a memorable and personalized Dutch countryside tour!

The exclusive tour is perfect for those wishing more free time and space to get around and learn much from the guide. It's an authentic experience of how windmills worked and served to house the families of the millers, and the site is UNESCO heritage for a reason.

The trip was hard because the car was just too small for an 8 hour day for 4 average sized adults. It was a very warm day. The air conditioning did not reach those sitting behind the passenger and drivers seat because the person sitting on the hump in the middle seat had to block the vents. The guide was good and the sights a must see. On this trip we split our sightseeing between Tours by Locals and Viator. Because of this incident and the fact that our dissatisfaction didn’t produce a favorable outcome we will not be booking with Viator again.

The guide was very professional and knowledgeable. The guide arrived at the pickup point 15mins before the meet up time and we were able to start early. We picked Gouda as our city of choice for visit and had a heritage tour around the old town. On the way to Gouda, we also dropped by a local cheese factory where we tasted some of the local produce. This is a highly recommended tour if you want to see the local and the heritage.
