The Pyramids Of Giza
Begin your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Ensure you are dressed comfortably with proper footwear, as the day will involve quite a bit of walking. It’s also a good idea to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. A bottle of water is essential to stay hydrated throughout the day. Your first stop is the world-renowned Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramids of Giza. As you approach the plateau, the sheer size and grandeur of the pyramids become apparent. Built more than 4,500 years ago, the Giza Pyramids stand as a testament to Egypt’s engineering prowess and the religious beliefs of the ancient pharaohs.
The Great Pyramid of Khufu
Following lunch, your next stop is the world-famous Egyptian Museum, located in Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo. The museum houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, offering a deeper understanding of the culture and history that shaped the civilization. • Key Exhibits: Among the must-see exhibits are the treasures of King Tutankhamun, and the statues and artifacts recovered from the tombs of various pharaohs. • Artifacts of Daily Life: Explore a vast collection of items that showcase the daily lives of ancient Egyptians, from jewelry and pottery to tools and papyrus scrolls. Your guide will highlight the most important exhibits, explaining their historical significance and how they provide insight into the lives of the pharaohs and their subjects.

Khaled_tour_guide Osama was the subcontracted tour guide for this 9-330 tour where we visited pyramid area with camel ride, papyrus/perfume stop and original egypt museum (still open, has mummies, while the big new one is overcrowded with all the Tut artifacts). Nice guy who knows his stuff, perfect English and Spanish, good reference material on his phone, patient driver (traffic in cairo is noisy and an adventure by itself). Plenty of photo ops and customization if you prefer not to enter hot shallow pyramid or reduce shopping component. Make sure you know what is included and what is not so you can budget, especially if there is a low fee special (i had no surprises). Having a tour guide saves you time and you’ll experience less haggling & hustling. Note that admission fees are paid in EGP by card (not cash) to musea.

If you’re short on time but want to see the best of Cairo, this is the tour for you. The Giza Pyramids and Sphinx were spectacular, and the Egyptian Museum gave me so much insight into ancient Egypt. Khan El Khalili is bustling and fun.

Today, Mohammed Kamel crafted an unforgettable experience. We started at the vibrant old town Bazaar, enjoying Turkish coffee, before heading to the Egyptian Museum where Mohammed shared his deep knowledge of Egypt's ancient kingdoms. Next, we visited the Pyramids of Giza, taking in stunning views of all nine pyramids and the Sphinx. Lunch at the “9 Pyramids Restaurant” offered a delicious mixed grill, fresh pide bread, and traditional Egyptian dips. A surprise professional photo shoot with Mohammed’s photographer friend made us feel like stars! We ended the day with a relaxing stop at a Shisha Bar and refreshing Hibiscus Tea. Thanks to Mohammed’s flawless planning, there was no waiting in lines, and his driver was both safe and reliable.
